How is the Tremor factory lift designed?

I put a 2” Rough Country lift kit on my XL and I’m experiencing some issues. Wondering if anyone knows how the Tremor lift is designed, and how/if it they did anything to account for the change in angle for the CVs. Long story short, Ford is stating that the Tremor has changes to the suspension that adjust for the angle in the CVs, but I’m curious if the 1” tremor lift is just spacers (like the Rough Country lift).

If I remember correctly, you only get about 1" more clearance with Tremor. I believe I recall about half is in a spring lift, and the rest is from the tires. Others will come in with way more technical data, but it's not anything like your 2" spacer lift.

Don't forget that the Tremor comes with "upgraded" half shafts with I'm guessing more stout CV joints to compensate for the harsher CV angles. What kind of things are you experiencing?

Their CVs went bad, the dealership declined warranty based on the lift, and so now they're desperately trying to justify that the lift didn't cause it. Despite, y'know, others with 2" lifts having CV failures.

Wobble from while accelerating from about 5-20mph. Goes away after surpassing 20mph. Also a clunking noise when hitting bumps and if I turn the wheel back and forth quickly. More details in the link to the thread in my initial post. CV is fine. I put a band thread one in and had the same issues right away. My theory is that there is something amiss with the case bearing. With the truck jacked up, here is movement from the inner CV on the driver’s side, compared with the passenger side. Ford said the movement was “within the normal range”

My CV boots are leaking and I don't even have a lift. When I jack up my Maverick the CV angles are extreme to say the least so I can definitely see how there would be issues. I sold my RC 2" lift after doing a preliminary look at the suspension and seeing just how much the lift would exacerbate the CV angle issue, these things are just not meant to be lifted and I see why Ford upgraded the half shafts with just a 1" lift on the Tremor.

As for warranty, yes I'm familiar with the Magnuson Moss warranty act but if you install a lift and expect Ford to warranty the cheap Hyundai half shafts afterward (Yes, they are Hyundai parts)......good luck with that.

We need a Tremor Maverick on a lift video. Make it be happening!

I’m not concerned about the warranty at this point. I know I altered the vehicle, so that’s on me. I do think it’s an issue outside of the lift though. I’m sure hundreds of people have installed the same lift, so if the issue is really that bad, why aren’t people making a stink about it? None of the other CVs are having an issue, just the one where I’m seeing what appears to be excessive movement in the upper cv where it goes into the transmission.

I've said it before and I will say it again if shafts from a hyundai fit then there is other upgrades out there. AMC Eagles IFS suspension benefit from longer S10/Blazer shafts or longer and stronger Eldorado shafts. This ofcourse is best with 71-74 Mustang springs and Granada brakes. Parts interchage is real and one day we will have the formula. So far we got Lincoln turbos and one day we will have Focus RS six speeds. Bronco sport brakes may allow 16" wheels that will open up offroad tire choices significantly. These trucks are cheap enough that people will be doing this sort of "research" to them and one day there will be a website like "The Ranger Station" or "Offroaders" that has detailed budget upgrade lists and fitment charts.

Nothing again Rough Country but they are the cheapest lift.

The Tremor has all the lift I need but if I was going to lift more "ranger lifts" has a lot of good reviews. They even have a lift just for the Tremor.

Those shocks and springs are softer, so that would be a poor way to get the lift if you had the 4K Tow package installed... as you'd probably squat the rear down much more...
