I understand both angles. Turbos are pretty simple. Compressor, Intercooler, Blow off valve not much to it really. Lots of OEMs are going turbo to get a lot of power out of small displacement engines. Semi's have used turbos forever running millions of miles with little trouble. Just not many options left for N/A engines anymore.Not a big fan of turbos. Makes engines think they on steroids. And adds lots complexity to support this scheme. checked specs on various vehicles. See some are a naturally aspirated. If needed, next vehicle will be natural aspirated.

It's a bit of an apples/oranges comparison. EGT's on turbo diesels are typically 300-500 degrees cooler at full power than a gasoline engine. They typically are also already built stronger than a gasoline engine and operate at a notably lower output/liter. The heavy duty Semi diesel engine is built stronger yes. But a Turbo is a Turbo gas or diesel regardless of EGT's And the 2.0L is designed for a Turbo.It's a bit of an apples/oranges comparison. Agreed. I have an F150 with the 3.5EB and it's great. The engine would last longer if built the same but without the turbos, but I wouldn't own it in that case. The 2.0 N/A ICE in my Corolla Hatchback had 167hpBut a 2.0 N/A engine will be a dog compared to the same 2.0 Turbo Charged engine!!
