Horn Beeping when opening door

Still getting accustomed to my new to me 2022 Maverick Lariat Hybrid. Several times now, when I pull into the driveway and shut the Maverick off, the horn beep when I open the door. Not every time just every now and again. I there a way to top this?

Try to isolate when it happens. I feel like mine has done it when I open the door when it's still running. Turning it off puts it in park, so it shouldn't be that. My Nissan doesn't like it if you do anything other than park- off-door.

Mine does it if my keyfob is still inside the vehicle when I lock the doors, and once in a while after I've opened the rear doors. I think its supposed to be some kind of reminder to check for a kid left in the back seat, but I would have thought that it would use the seatbelt weight sensors for that.

The rear sensors are touchy in my opinion. I put a bag with some weatherstripping, and 3 little bags of machine screws form HD on it and it kept chiming to buckle up. I moved the bag to the floor and it stopped.

No kidding. They are more than touchy. Had two rear passengers in my car and a tiny box in the middle - less than two pounds. Took us a couple of minutes to figure out that the small, tiny box sets off the seat belt sign.

Usually happens when key in ignition and accidentally bump lock button by lever opener when opening door
