I was so cool / calm waiting the last 6 months for my order to come in...
- Waiting for a build date with commodities all over the place
- Wondering if my dealer was honest about allocations
- Doing extra work on my current car when I realized the new one wouldn't make it in time to beat inspection.
- Even through the strike
- Even when my build date bounced around
- Even when the tracker stopped working and said "delivered"
- Even when that railcar reporting reloading (guessing I've transfered to truck)
- Even when cust service / my dealer says "It's on a railcar" any time now vs actually having an idea on date.

Now that I'm in range of a week or two, I'm finally getting antsy. I know I haven't waited as long as others but sweet mama Jane just get me my damn truck!

20 years ago my dealer told me, to the day, when my car was arriving about two weeks out from delivery. Now it seems no one gives a fudge, seems a little sad how we're operating now a days.

Anyone else get really damn antsy in the final stretch?

Much of the uncertainty is due to the rail transport, and the border crossing doesn't help.
To please their Wall Street masters, in the last 10 years the railroads have moved to a business model called "precision scheduled railroading", which is about ad Orwellian a name as you could come up with, because PSR means "only run a train when it is absolutely full". Worse, now the meaning of "absolutely full" is 15,000' feet or more ... and few if any sidings are longer than 10,000'. So every train goes the speed of the slowest one, and large sections of track become virtually one way at a time. Not recipe for accurately estimating delivery times!

I used to think I was a patient man but waiting for the Maverick showed me that I am not. I went bonkers waiting for mine. After receiving my "Your Maverick is almost built" message, I was able to switch my held up 24 for a similar 23 already on the lot.

The final weeks are the worst. Remember, years ago all of this stuff would be opaque. You would go to the dealer and pick what's on the lot, or they would call around to other dealers to find what you want.

Right now, it's got to go through a process and nobody can really influence that to be any faster. Whatever happens, happens. There could be an epic snowstorm and it gets delayed an extra week, or it could be smooth sailing and get there early.

Just chill, it will get there.

I wasn't doing bad while it was on the train because I could call for location updates. Once it sat in the railyard, that was the longest 10 days with no word since it was waiting on a delivery truck and a couple storms.

Now I got word this morning it's in and prepped, but I have to wait until tomorrow for the credit union to be open to print the check. It's going to be a long day today...

This is the most important time. You have to start stalking your Mav/dealer. Don't just sit back and wait for the dealer to contact you. You don't want to be writing one of the "dealer sold my Maverick" posts.

Not going to lie, this is a bit of a concern although my dealer seems pretty honest on so far.

I'm also X-plan. One would like to think they don't want both Ford & X-plan program Ford reps contacting them cause they wanted to make a quick buck 🤷‍♂️. I'm also an Eco base model with hitch, not the best to tack on an adjustment.

I'm still waiting on mine. I placed my order in September of 22! Yea, 14+ months. All I get from my dealer are, others have waited longer!

Jman, I'm with you on hoping the dealer doesn't pull a quick one. My build date is next week and I frequently wonder if the dealer is going to try to pull something. Hopefully not.

Ok, as I'm now entering the second week of this last stage of delivery I'll now coin "limbo stage". It's not dead, but also not alive, just waiting to cross over in limbo!

My emotions switch from antsy, to ... "Is this all some big prank?" Are Ashton Kutcher & Jim Farley going to jump out of my bushes as I get the mail tomorrow and be like "Gotcha 🤬er, you were never getting a truck!" 😆

It's like a bad joke, do I need to hold a seance to get a ETA? I know it won't do much for me, but in a day and age when I can find out my $2 Amazon order is 4 houses away it seems a little odd no one can get a bead on a $25K truck.

Vent over 🤷‍♂️

I too have been waiting since September of 2022, my dealer tells me that there are seven others waiting along with me, this will be my first Ford, so I'm dealing with a dealer I know nothing about.

There's a reason this forum is known as Mavericks Anonymous. If I were you, I'd start drinking heavily. We're here to support, not judge. ;)

I understand and feel the same way. My truck has shipped and the delivery date range has changed 4 times. The second time was a huge jump forward. The third and fourth times it was pushed back a day or two each time. My guess is this recent storm has caused a delay as my truck is coming by Convoy. But still possible to be delivered this week! 🤞😵
