AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS TO BUY A MAVERICK, I SAID I WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN. AFTER SOME SERIOUS THOUGHT I CHANGED MY MIND. I GUESS I AM JUST OLD AND HARD HEADED, AND I WON'T GIVE UP JUST THAT EASILY. THIS TIME I WENT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER IN A DIFFERENT TOWN. ON JULY 17 I PUT IN AN ORDER FOR A STRIPPED DOWN ECOBOOST. ONLY OPTION WAS A TRAILER HITCH. FOR ME A TRUCK WITHOUT A HITCH IS USELESS. SO I DID IT AND THE WAITING BEGAN AGAIN. I HEARD NOTHING FROM THE DEALER OR FORD AS USUAL UNTIL TODAY, I GOT THE 45 DAY EMAIL WHICH KINDA SHOCKED ME. I AM STILL EXPECTING THE LONG DISTANCE RUN AROUND I HAVE GOTTEN FOR THE LAST 671 DAYS SINCE MY FIRST ORDER. THE OPTIMIST IN ME SAYS THEY CAN'T CONTINUE TO RUN A BUSINESS THIS WAY AND CONTINUE TO FLOURISH. WE WILL SEE, IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS IT WILL BE 2 YEARS SINCE MY FIRST ORDER, HOW MUCH LONGER SHOULD A MAN HAVE TO WAIT?

I THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP TRYING AND CALLING ALL DEALERS WITHIN 250 MILES. IF YOU PUT THE WORD OUT THERE FOR WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AND HOW MUCH YOU WILL SPEND IM SURE ONE OF THEM WILL CALL YOU BACK IN NO TIME. I DID THAT HERE IN THE TORONTO AREA AND GOT ONE WITHIN A FEW WEEKS. IT IS A LOT HARDER UP HERE IN CANADA SINCE OUR POPULATION IS SO MUCH SMALLER AND THINGS ARE SPREAD FURTHER APART.

What have written is how I got mine. I ended up paying more than I should however no price increase and no 10% interest.

Ordered a 2022 when the banks opened got it in dec 26 2021. Order Again Sept 2022 5 different family members pulled the trigger same day. Two arrived May 7th one Arrived 2 August. The least to are in the Build state and Due here Sept 22nd one Year five days after the order. We are Lucky

After we ordered our 23 Lariat Hybrid in Sept of 2022 my son got interested in one and managed to find a 2022 XLT Velocity Blue with FX4 and AWD for MSRP off a dealer lot. He's been driving his while I've been waiting for mine. Never got anything but the dear John letters every 45 days from Ford. We allowed the dealer to rollover our 23 Lariat Hybrid to a 24 with same options but in Terrain color. So decided to improve our allocation odds by placing a second order with Granger Ford in Iowa. Both those decisions paid off. The 23 rollover is scheduled for production an Oct 16th and the one from Granger is scheduled for Oct 30th. Both are same chassis, color, options and trim. So if you get a chance I say Granger is your best bet. At the time I placed the order with them they were offering $1000 off MSRP.

High-volume dealerships aren't always the best choice. I'm not in the Midwest, but close; and not that far from KS, so I initially ordered from L-M. But when I found a small-town, small volume dealer much closer in my home state that sells for MSRP, with a doc fee much lower than L-M and that also takes phone orders, I placed an order with them and canceled my L-M order. L-M ran out of '23 allocations, but my much closer dealer still had some. Truck has shipped and currently available for unloading in MO. It should be delivered to my local dealer before the end of the month.

The main issue is that op isn't getting any update, nor info on the progress of the order from the dealer. I am sure there are other dealers, some low volume, some high volume that might be a better choice, but can anyone really know them all?

Even the dealer I got my truck from, I had to spend quite a bit of times sending refs/links to the dealer I wish I knew about allocation and honest dealers before I ordered, I would have ordered from Galphin here in SoCal.
