@RR - All the way as for your question... I agree the individual tires aren't outside of spec, however they're both toe'd in, like this /\ and total toe is out of spec. Think of learning how to ski, how they teach you to make a pizza slice to slow down. To me, both tires toe'd toward each other is constantly generating friction (either on the tires, or on the axel, or both...) and the potential cause of premature wear.
It's sounding like the consensus though is that these measurements aren't that bad. My suspicion is that more frequent rotations is really just mitigating an underlying issue. Unfortunately, by the time I can tell whether or not the same issue is occurring with this new set of tires my truck will be out of warranty.
