Hi All. ‘23 Lariat Tremor with Lux Package here. Now that it’s getting cold in the northeast, I’ve started utilizing the FordPass remote start more frequently in hopes of warming the truck before getting in after work. Unfortunately I’ve noticed when getting in the seats are still cold despite me having the remote settings for Heated Seats and Wheel on Auto. Once I get in and press the Start button the seat finally warms up from there. Has anyone else had this issue of the seat not warming on remote start, and how did you resolve if so? I saw a Super Duty forum that showed this same issue and the fix for that was an update to the appropriate module. Curious if anyone has experienced or seen the same for the Maverick?

Possibly related, but maybe not(?) When using my heated wheel it will initially warm up nicely but within a minute or two it drops the heat and never really gets beyond Luke warm intermittently for the rest of my ride. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any feedback you might have would be greatly appreciated!

1. Likely a settings issue. Page 124 of the manual has more info. I think you may need to set them to auto.

2. The temperature cooling off is normal.

It's #2. There have been posts here about the seats and wheel cutting off heat based on in-cab temps

The heated steering wheel is set to get 'around' 100 degrees, so fluctuation is normal -- regarding seats, I have seen the same, I think does heat the seat cover a 'small' amount, so if running 5-10 min it's not AS COLD as the other covers and heats up rather quickly...remember, its a decently thick pleather cover so if running at a lower temp will take longer to warm up...just what I have seen...

Thanks for the reply. All settings are set properly for seat and wheel to warm on remote start. Unfortunately when I get in the wheel is warm, but the seats are ice cold and do not start to warm until the Start button is pressed indicated I’m in the truck. The heated seat indicator is fully illuminated upon hitting start, along with the wheel and mirrors indicator, but for some reason it just seems as though the seat heater does not actually engage until the Start button is pressed. 🤔

My truck is the same, settings are correct too. Weird how this seems to be a hit and miss issue...

I had the same issue with the remote start not registering the heater seats and wheel until I turn the key (XLT). Both are set to auto in the settings, which should be based on what they were set to from the last time the engine was shutdown.

Note: It did work on the first time I used the remote start, but that was in the summer and the heated seats and steering wheel came on. So I set them to off then. Ever since going back to auto, they still do not turn on with remote start.

Odd, both of mine just work without me touching any setting.

I’m pretty sure I read in another thread that since a specific update to the truck from ford it doesn’t warm up when you use remote start anymore but it did in fact used to

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Is that when you use your fordpass app to start the car, or when you get in and start the car manually (without remote start)?

Lucky! It was a cold day here yesterday so I FordPass started my truck and let it run for 8 minutes before going out to get in, and seats were ice cold despite all of the settings set. ☹ Once I engaged the start button letting the truck know I had gotten in, the seats then warmed quickly within a minute or two. Hoping this is just a hiccup.

I don't have heated seats, but see if turning Auto to Off and Fan & Temp to Max makes any difference.
