Any idea what the hud plugs into to get its data? I can’t find anything
I can’t find any either but I’m thinking like you, looks like there’s enough room under dash carefully cut the dash cover inset clear plastic and install hub under.
Don’t like idea of wires or hud on top

Exactly. I want it looking as stock as possible with the information that Ford intended. If it costs me $200-300 (salvaged parts) but ends up looking and working stock, that is the goal.

The aftermarket ones with wires showing would always bother me. To each their own.

You and me both, I would love to have an OBDII driven HUD but I can't find anywhere what information I can get from the OBD. I would like(I have a hybrid) battery status of charge, throttle position, oil pressure, coolant temp, and MAYBE some way to get the Blind Side Alert in front of my eyes rather than blocked by my glasses frames!
Search feature on the forums is your friend - and pretty good.

Agree and if wireless nowadays, somebody would break your windshield or your window just to steal it

hey Ryan, this is Ron. You help me straighten out my digital cluster about three months ago. Have you done or thought about doing the sync 4 upgrade yet? Ts

Hey Ron,

I have all the parts for the 13” screen and sync 4 upgrade.

I just finished depinning and repinning and soldering power ground to the harness following @Billzilla15’s thread.

Just wrapping my head around making a mounting bracket which would firmly lock all 3 mounting points to one before I open up my dash.

Sweet, Bill did the 3 to 4 with it, I’ve considered that but going to 8” sync 4 NON if I can figure out the forscan codes. . There is a thread but all the guru’s have left the site. Keep us up on progress

I just use a basic one I've had for a number of years now that's pretty much standalone as it solely relies on GPS. This does mean that it can be interrupted, but it's pretty rare and usually only a few seconds. Could be more of a problem if you travel through tunnels frequently.

I have occasionally been tempted to try upgrading to one of the ones that utilize the OBDII + GPS and display extra data (actual coolant temp and RPM could be useful), but I've seen some with hybrids comment that the units get confused by the engine shutting off.
The HUD in the pictures is hybrid compatible. The RPM goes to 0 with the engine off and also indicates when the engine is running, even when the power meter might be in the green, such as the second or two that the engine runs when you release the accelerator to coast or to put on the brakes. The engine is off in the picture and the entire RPM line is illuminated. It shows RPM by turning off the RPM line up to the current RPM. Kind of a novel way to do it, but makes it clear when the engine is off.

Great find! I like the extra features and the reasonable price. Seems a bit bulky but not a deal breaker. If I did not already have one, I would definitely consider this and I'll keep it mind when/if I need a replacement.

Yes! mind does get confused, very disappointing. Did someone find one that works for Hybrids?
