In the end, the door edge product was the right choice.

I could apply it to the entire headliner when it was down on the seats, but I did not have to pull it out of the cab.

Once it was on the headliner, and the headliner reinstalled, it is unobtrusive. If I do happen to look at it, it looks finished. No more frayed edges to grate on my nerves.
Nice job Wilbur!👍 That seems like a butt ton of work. I love all the sound deadening mats. Show a photo of the finished product of the rear camera please. 📸

Let's play "spot the camera" in this shot:

And a bit closer:

There is a small bracket under that lip, and I screwed a 3"-long piece of wood to it. The wood is spray-painted black, and the bracket for the camera is screwed into the wood.

Not sophisticated in terms of a mount, but my wife has been driving it daily for three weeks, and no complaints or problems so far.

This thread is intended to provide users with some photographs of what they can expect above the headliner.

I had to piece together pictures from eBay auctions, bits of information spread throughout the forum here, some incomplete Ford manuals, YT videos, and so on, and it was tedious to assemble a mental picture of what to expect.

So here are some posts with photos that will hopefully make your job easier.
Wilbur see you dropped your headliner down. Do you think a fish wire can be pushed through from the rear dome light opening to the front overhead console? I dont have a sunroof. I want to run the wire for my rear dash cam down the middle under the headliner. When I push on my headliner it feels like their is a gap between it and the underside of the roof. It deflects up quite easy. Thanks Rick.

Rick, I do think that with enough patience and a good wire, you could likely get from the dome light forward to the overhead console.

You can see in the pictures on the first page that there are two sets of ribs that run transversely along the steel of the roof, and I predict that those are going to be the difficulty to overcome. If you can push past them, then the gap you feel between the roof and the headliner is at least an inch otherwise.

If you place your hand into one of either the dome light or center console apertures and reach back/forward to the center, you can probably push the headliner down slightly, while a second person fishes the line forward or back. With your hand in there, you can likely grasp the line after your partner stabs you a couple of times. However, if you are a well-muscled character, this will be a difficult task to accomplish, so maybe find someone who is skinnier, flexible, and doesn't mind a few jabs to do the reaching and pushing and grasping.

One trick to get past the two ribs by yourself might be to push the line from the dome light hole sideways to the edge of the headliner, and then carefully pull the line forward. To do this, you will have to deflect and pull the headliner down off the edge of the B-pillar, etc. However, you can see from some of the other pictures on pages 2 and 3 of this thread that the headliner does not overlap very much at all.

So if I didn't want to drop the headliner, I would do the following:

1. Open up the dome light aperture.
2. Run the line from the dome light to the side.
3. Deflect the headliner enough to grasp the line, and then pull it forward until it is forward to about the position of the steering wheel.
4. Fish the line back to the center and the console aperture.
5. Gently pull the line taut between the console and the dome light.

I didn't do this, and one of the reasons was that I was afraid of bending or deforming the headliner stiffening material, leaving my headliner creased.
