I have been hauling lumber for over 50 years. I know how to secure a load and I know how to drive with a load. I have been in engineering and construction all of my working life. I just posted this to show the relationship between the bed length and the length of the lumber. By the way, I hauled this load about 10 miles and it did not move an inch. The bed is very secure for up to 8' objects.
That is greatI use one of these for longer items, works well

This is the best way to haul long items in the Maverick. Simple, inexpensive, and easy to use. Common sense to help avoid an accident or police.I use one of these for longer items, works well

SeriouslyThis is why you get the sliding rear window
Yes but be careful- while unique stupid circumstance my whole rear window shattered after hauling a 10’ pvc 4” pipe- I used the window vs my bed racks as no need to secure, but got distracted when pulling it out and it rolled sideways on the rack and perhaps 1’ remaining inside kicked out the back glass. Stupid but what can go wrong is infinite ….This is why you get the sliding rear window
