It has been a while since this was discussed but if you really want to protect the paint (especially if you have a vibrant color like atlas blue, eruption green, HPR or cyber orange) invest in a ceramic coating. After 38 months of owning my XLT, I still get compliments on the Cyber Orange color. I also put a hood deflector on after several people on this forum suggested it.
Paste wax works great also 😃

The hood deflector is suppose to protect hood from rocks but I doubt it helps protect windshield. I have been fortunate to only have one small chip in windshield in over 3 years.

I had a 2022 lariat that experienced paint chipping or flaking. I had multiple white spots show up on the side of the front fenders where the paint flaked off in the first few months of ownership. Does anyone know if there was an issue back then...or did paint thickness increase with newer models? I'm expecting my 2025 to go into production next week.

thanks!
I have a 2024 and the paint quality is terrible probably the worst thing about the truck. I’ve had numerous ford vehicles and never had a paint chip. I have about 5 chips on the side excluding the ones in front end ones. If you sneeze I think it would chip.

I try not to stare at my 2023 too long because I'm afraid the paint might scratch itself without even being touched. Don't know if the non-metallic paint makes things worse, but I have never seen OEM paint this thin.

It's a shame because I find the Area 51 color easy to stare at...

My wife’s finger nail polish would be better.

Yes, I drive it everywhere and live on a gravel road. 27,000 miles on the truck. I wash it once a year, every spring, and give it a coat of paste wax.
You must live in an area without much traffic then. Your sig says Alpena (MI?). That probably explains it. Around a metro area, like where I live, you can't avoid heavy traffic and road projectiles (rocks, metal objects, trash, etc). I do my best to not follow any other vehicles by about 4-seconds, but people will cut you off and kick up objects as they do. Heck, one time, there was a dump truck that was about 600 feet in front of me merging onto the interstate and he dropped a small rock. I could see it bouncing along and into my windshield and there was nothing I could do to avoid it.
