Some people think they're all the same, beginning to end but in fact they are constantly evolving. Lots if small changes over the course of a model year in parts and processes.Surprisingly my own truck was even better than what I remember from test drives for overall driving experience and performance![]()
Congrats!Picked up my Maverick today. VERY smooth transaction with my small local dealer. Did a walkaround inspection yesterday before PDI and went back today for a quick test drive and completed purchase. Dealer honored the original pricing (MSRP and no hikes after ordering) and added back in my $750 rebate which had expired 1/3/22 and disappeared from my Smart Vincent account. Took the long way home and went through local mountains and twisty roads to try out all drive modes including Sport. It handled beautifully and did not find any rattles in dash or doors during the quick test drive where I made sure to go on rutted dirt roads, speed bumps and run it through the gears, check braking, etc. The 8 speed shifts smooth as butter, no excessive engine noise engaging Turbo, wind noise only present when I was in mountains with actual winds as a big storm approaches, and tire noise only present when on "Chip seal" surfaced roads. Before ordering I had previously driven a 2022 Ford Edge with same 2.0/8 speed combo and an early arrival Maverick at dealership back in October 2021, so I knew what to expect. Surprisingly my own truck was even better than what I remember from test drives for overall driving experience and performance
Ended up putting nearly 100 miles on it today in varied driving conditions. Now it is sleeping under cover as we await snowstorms tomorrow. Sleep tight Grey Ghost

Tend to agree with this. Processes are constantly tweaked and refined for efficiency and quality. Workers gain more experience the longer they stay on their jobs and also help train newbies. Mine was built a full year after production started and it just feels tighter than the early build I drove last September. I also benefited from some timely luck too- originally, I had ordered spray Bedliner which had the drill damage issues, ordered full size spare (that wasn't) and also mud flaps that ended up rubbing off paint. When that email came out urging people to drop constrained options to increase chances of getting scheduled I took all 3 off and got scheduled in less than 2 weeks, followed by VIN and build dates. Some people think they're all the same, beginning to end but in fact they are constantly evolving. Lots if small changes over the course of a model year in parts and processes.
A late build is usually the best build.
Thanks. It has that clean look to it and just enough contrast between the "sparkle silver" wheels against the metallic Grey body and black trim to make it interesting IMO. Added benefit is the wheels are 1" smaller and replacement tires are cheaperNice looking truck. Love the steelies.
Congrats on your Maverick!
Thanks. l think you are 1 of the last OGs still on the roller coaster now. Hopefully you get a little luck on yours soonCongrats!
I agree about the clean look and I actually think they look better than black wheels, but that is just me. Have a good one! Thanks.
