Check out this double tent cot. Set it on your 2x6 cross members sideways. Sleeps two from Yescom and available at Walmart.com for about $300.

How can sales people ever hope to achieve the same level of knowledge as someone on the internet like you knowing the owner’s manual inside and out 😆.

Note though that these are very hot inside, and if one person rolls over, both people roll over. Maybe literally. It's very cute though.

normal tent?
One answer for that. Wife.

actually we have had everything from a travel trailer, class c and then a 40 foot class A. All because the wife refuses to sleep in a tent. Now that we are living on a shoreline we really don't travel much but a simple pop-up would be nice in case we need to evac due to hurricane with the 5 cats. I know, why spend so much on something that wouldn't get used much and you are right.

I really don't think the Maverick's bed size or payload limits really lend themselves to a pop-up camper. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't do it. I'd use a traditional tent or a teardrop.

Additionally having your sleeping solution tied to your vehicle means taking it down to use your vehicle, which is a huge pita in my experience.

Just got done looking at those online. Pretty nice, light, and a usable trailer as well. If I find 10 grand in the couch cushions I'd get one.
Completely agree.
