Short of removing the modem from the truck, which I doubt is an easy process, the only thing you can do is simply delete the app from your phone and ignore the fact that it still exists. You probably don't want to take it out of the truck even if you can, especially if you want to resell it in some years down the road. The other thing that it does is send check engine and error codes back to Ford. That way when you pull up to a dealership that knows what they are doing, they can immediately see all codes or check engine lights that you've had. Yes, Big Brother is watching and I don't like it any more than the next guy. Maybe someone on here has successfully disabled it and they can chime in.

Upposedly removing fuse #11 from the panel will cut power to the telemetry control module and nothing else. I've not done it my self but it seems like an easy thing to test. If it doesn't work you just put the fuse back in.

Here is a diagram layout I found done by a member here.

Wait, so if the codes are already in Ford's knowledge base, why have some of these guys been charged a $200 diagnostic fee? Especially if the diagnostic was wrong?

That's a great question! The three dealerships I've taken my Maverick to have not charged that fee (Warranty I assume). Two of them are good with that system I mentioned, one has no clue. Needless to say, I will not be going back to the clueless dealership. And yes, they already have the codes in their system and can see them without you even needing to go to the dealership.

I was thinking about this Post when I asked the question:

The only problem is, if your system isn't logging an error then there's nothing for the dealership to see on their end. Basically your Maverick thinks it's running normally so nothing is sent to their servers indicating otherwise. Maybe the "diagnostic fee" is the joyride they take to see if they can replicate the issue. That's billable time but should still be covered under warranty and be no charge for you.

In addition to unplugging fuse# 11 in the cab fuse panel (not under the hood), remove the VIN from your Ford account and delete the app's data. Then, uninstall the Ford Pass app from your mobile device(s).

Thanks For Responding. I really was just looking for a way to just Turn the Modem off with a software
Solution. Delating the app is fine but I really want to just turn the modem off. My Bad Sorrry
