I completely forgot about Amazon Chase and its 5%. I guess Amazon Chase is my highest paying card with Prime. Travel benefits are no longer a use to me. Being retired with dogs, we stay on the ground and travel in the Transit motorhome that pulls the Maverick. My personal choice in reward cards are AMEX/Chase varieties because of their flexibility with transfer partners and travel benefits.
If I were to move back to cash back cards my #1 would be the Fidelity Rewards card because of compound interest. After that I would likely consider the Capital One SavorOne, Amazon Prime (with Prime membership), Chase Freedom, or Amex Bluecash Preferred, since I use the AMEX offer portal often.
The Ford rewards card may outperform any of the above cards under the right circumstance. If you value the Ford points it is a good option.
A very important and often overlooked benefit from a credit card is its additional insurance and warranty protections. We had a rather expensive appliance fail just outside of it's warranty period and AMEX covered its full value. Chase's travel insurance benefit was very helpful on one of our recent trips to Europe.
I'll have to check into Fidelity...thanks.
Edit: Let me return the favor and tell you about Primis Bank. It is a checking account (they have two types) and it is free of monthly fees, no mimimum balance, first box of checks free, and it pays 5.07% APY on that checking account. Has all the rest, mobile deposits, etc.
