Got this on eBay and installed it today. Works great. Plug n play. Had to remove eight small screws in console to lift it up enough to reach under and release the 4 button panel. I tried using small screwdrivers to release it but had no luck. So I went the long way but it wasn’t bad or scary at all. I guess about 20 or 30 minutes . I just couldn’t justify spending 99 bucks on the under the dash one. I will take the $80 I saved and go to Disneyland.

All Mavericks must not do this because mine doesn't?

I liked the start stop feature on my old Cherokee. Ten years of service without an issue. Replaced the battery at 9 years, which is a couple of years more than I typically get from the Oem battery.

I like it even better on the 24 Lariat hybrid. Interestingly, my 24 Tremor (Ecoboost) is calibrated differently than our Hybrid and you have to really work at it by applying significantly more brake pressure at a stop light to activate the start stop feature. I much prefer the way the feature is calibrated in the hybrid.

I was an engine development engineer for thirty plus years, and find it somewhat amusing to read the hypothetical, and unfounded “concerns” about such a system from novice, self acclaimed Engine design experts who never worked on engine development programs in their entire life.

They’re all entitled to their opinions, I guess. Just don’t make decisions based on those unfounded opinions.
I find it amusing that possibly an engineer with over 30 years experience with the handle of "finn" could have left an "L" out and could have meant to say "unfloundered 'concerns' (aka "not fishy concerns") or possibly going for "unfunded concerns"? 🤔🤔🤔

I've said this before in the past, but it's not "pushing a button" that is the hassle. It is pushing THAT button, AND acknowledging the seat belts, AND acknowledging the parking brake, AND changing to the drive mode you prefer as default... and then maybe acknowledging the seat belts AGAIN. EVERY drive.

I have no illusions about this cheap truck making it to 1,000,000 miles by eliminating the "wear and tear" supposedly caused by the A/S/S. But getting my truck to the state I want it for each drive should not be a gaming-cheat-code level of button-presses.
LOL Yep. The A S S does not bother me but all of the rest of the cheat code absolutely does ... OK, Mode Left, Mode Left, Cruise ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A ... every stinking time I start the vehicle. I understand having to turn on the cruise when I start the vehicle but I really wish the seatbelt nanny would go away on its own when the lights are green and it would remember the drive mode :(

Having to turn the cruise on every time I want to use it tends to be a Ford thing. It's the same thing on my wife's Escape. My GM's and Chrysler's stayed on. Remembering drive mode would be nice too.

I assume the A/S/S comes back every time because of emissions, but honestly I don't understand why Ford makes you turn cruise on every time. I had a '97 F150, so I've seen it before, but my Hondas going back 30+ years all had a persistent switch. 🤷‍♂️

I noticed this too in my EcoBoost. I find it to be a fun little game to hold the brake enough to stop me from rolling but not enough to trigger the A S S.
