The other option to consider if needing to haul something in an open pickup is to rent a pickup from U-Haul for about $25 for the day. Worth it considering the time & effort to remove & replace the canopy. Something to consider.Ah ok. Now I understand!
You are right! If you need to remove it time to time, might be very annoying ...
In my case, If I get one, I will probably leave on 99.9% of the time as well.
Taking as reference my bed cover I removed it just 2 times in 2 years.
Thank you for the insight![]()

Very sturdy and I’m sure you could carry canoes on top. But if the wife is not happy, no one is happy.I'm sure it has it's use but the wife wanted something a little more secure for our camping gear. Got my new ARE. V series Cap today. Wife insisted I get it for an upcoming cross country camping trip so things in the bed would be a little more secure. I didn't really want one but it looks better than I thought it would. The paint matched perfectly. Took six weeks for it to come in. Had them put an extra clip on each side as we carry canoes on the roof and one crossbar will be on the cap.

I also have a 2025 Maverick hybrid in Ruby Red. I also purchased an ARE cap. The cap came in last week and I am having 2 problems. My dealer/installer and ARE have told me there is currently no wiring diagram or information regarding how to tie in the cap third brake light. Assuming your brake light works, do you by chance know where your installer tied the light in? And my cap leaks water very badly. Have you been able to keep your gear dry in your bed of your pickup after it was installed? I realize there will be water infiltration at the tailgate but mine leaks on both sides and the front too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tried that with an isolation relay and it worked for a day then the 2025 logic started thinking I was pulling a trailer and I got 5-6 error messages. So the installer took it out for now.Mine on my '23 is tied into the driver's side taillight harness.
