If you had to track them down, that means they didn't stick around. I'd make sure to involve their insurance, someone like that deserves their rates to increase or be cancelled.
Probably don’t have any insurance…or money to pay for repair…so sad these days.

Typical driver worried about her own vehicle. Didn't notice her looking at your truck. Wonder if she was playing on her phone or messing with the radio. Maybe these Mavericks are just to big. I will get a dash cam. Seems these trucks are magnets to other drivers.
On her phone, most likely.

I was able to track them down they don’t want to involve insurance they want to fix out of pocket.
That means they have no insurance, or think it will just cost them a couple hundred dollars.

Exactly! If she is dishonest enough to hit and run, she is dishonest enough that her promise to pay is worthless. Accidents happen and this one obviously wasn’t malicious. Just carelessness. But hit and run removes any sympathy I may have had for her bad day. If I were OP, I’d notify her insurance of the accident and the hit and run.

Wow, as hard as she hit and moved the Maverick I am amazed there appears to not be more damage. Hopefully not damage underneath that is not visible. Good luck!!

My wife tapped a man on his rear bumper with her Camry about three years ago. $300 to buff his bumper, no damage to the Camry. No need to call the police, he said. We go to court the third week of October as he is suing us and State Farm for $250K. RULE, IMHO: Always have the police fill out an accident report, even if you may get a ticket. My 2 cents!!!

If you had to track them down, you need to involve the police and their insurance.

Don't mess around with the "...can't we settle this without involving insurance since you will NEVER get paid..."

They need to get a ticket and to have their insurance pay for the repairs.

Mine got backed into by a mail truck and the damage was very similar, it ended up being over $4000 in damages. nothing underneath was hurt, that was just replacing the fender, bumper cover and tail light. I'd be going after her insurance just to make sure your truck gets fixed right. The dealership body shop tried to fill the dent in the fender but the filler cracked 2 weeks after I got it back, that's when I made the post office insurance replace the fender.

This needs to go to your insurance so they can get her insurance involved. Her vehicle hit your truck hard enough to where her left rear wheel left the ground. The hit to your vehicle was mostly to your right rear wheel that can easily have damaged a lot of hidden areas. Good luck.

Does this mean you tracked them down with information they left behind for you or ????
Does the info include their insurance info (don't care if they want to work outside insurance .. still need to provide insurer info)?

Sorry this happened to your Mav.
I don't know details of how these parking brakes work nor the trans while in "P".
But what we can't see in the picture of the quarter panel is what i'd be more worried about.

First, you don't have to get a ticket from police to file an insurance claim!

She was a hit and run and police need to get involved if you want to ever get paid for the damage...no sympathy for a hit and run. Most people that don't want you to call the police or their insurance company are hiding something or don't know the extent of the damage. From Experience: the thin sheet metal on the Maverick will most likely need the entire side of the fender replaced...not easy for a body shop.

It does look like your rear tire took the majority of the impact.

that white car has plenty of space. Parking is the hard part, getting out is normally fairly easy
See? I told you I was a country boy. Safe to say parallel parking in city is something this old boy has never done and will never do again. :ROFLMAO: (y)

Been fortunate for the past 45 years to haven't had to deal with the likes of this.
But, from other relatives' experiences.. ASAP make two calls....
1. To Police, to make a record of the incident and
2. my Insurance, so the process starts ASAP...

Sad for the inconvenience, you now will have to run through.
There was enough room on the street, another person too preoccupied...

Our insurance provider (used to - not sure if still does) allows the at fault driver to pay 100% of the cost to repair the insured vehicle and avoid the penalties. They will in essence work as a broker to insure the not at fault vehicle is repaired to their standard and remove the risk of being stiffed by the other driver. I have been asked on occasion to not involve insurance but have refused telling them to just pay my insurer back. The only time I did not was when a guy hit my trailer and pushed the rails to my waterbed (yes it was a long time ago) through the front of the wood frame. Since I had just recently built it I knew how much it was going to cost to fix it so I doubled that amount and took the cash on the spot!
