Got a few questions

So, I ordered a 2024 Maverick last week. XL, 2.L, tow hitch, AWD and plain Jane from those options.

I did get an email from Ford with an order ID # and was from Dearborn MI. I'm taking that as the order has been gotten and things are on track to get the pickup built. Can someone verify that this is the process for mine to get built???

I don't care if it is a year from now before it is done and delivered to dealership.

My other question is do you feel this pickup will standup in mountains and tough road conditions?

Only thing better is the fact you have already said "I can be patient". Now, peruse MTC to find all the great wisdom, information and advice on your soon to be new Mav. You can't beat MTC for THE most accurate information and best ideas on mods and add-ons.

Let me also warn you just about every other post is someone with a problem that is the greatest issue ever to a truck owner, Ford is tone deaf and won't fix anything on time and that the dealership is run and owned by Satan.

Ignore them unless it's an actual recall or TSB.

You should consider adding the 4K tow package to your order. Since you already splurged for the AWD and the hitch. It's only $745 even less if you subtract the cost of the stand alone hitch that you have already added.

It comes with many additional benefits like upgraded engine cooling, oil cooling, taller rear gearing and more. Even if you don't ever plan on towing anything the upgraded parts will help extend the life of your Maverick and help with potential resale value.

I did order the 745$ option and I wasn't clear about that in my post. I did get that option and yes well worth that money to do so. I did order the tow package sorry about the unclear description I gave.

As far as mountains goes I have no problems with my truck and that includes hauling a utility trailer loaded up to 4000 lbs. It handles like a champ up and down the terrain. If you plan to trailer anything definitely use the tow haul mode in the mountains it will keep the transmission from seeking gears which puts a lot of wear and tear on the tranny and engine. Only issue I've ever had is on super steep inclines that the engine doesn't always have enough power to climb if in eco drive mode. Use normal drive mode or tow haul if you have trailer attached in that case. I can't speak to tough roads since I primarily drive paved or county maintained gravel roads.

As far as tough roads goes if you have issues upgrading the tires to All Terrain ones assuming the ones you are getting are the stock All Season Continental all season tires will definitely help. You could put larger tires on also that will also give you some lift but at the penalty of a small loss of MPG and your speedometer will no longer read correctly without recalibration. Best to stick to the same size and about the same weight to keep the MPG hit to minimum if any as the stock tires unless you need the lift on the truck.

A good candidate and the tires I plan to put on mine once the stock tires wear out are the 225 65 / R17 Armstrong Tru-Trac AT tires you can buy at Walmart. They weigh 19lbs which is about what the stock Continentals weigh. Right now they are selling for $116 a tire but they do vary in price from month to month.

the maverick's ground clearance can be a major issue in rocky and hilly terrain. if it's a gravel road you're ok even if it's packed with snow. but anything I would consider rugged, you need to be very cautious.
