Going crazy over tonneau covers!

I really appreciate this thread because I was also going crazy looking at tonneau cover options. There are some good suggestions in this thread so I now have a good selection to narrow down.

Water resistant is key words . have undercover armor tonneau more for security than water proof protection . don't know if leaks or not . not that important to me . edges around dibl ( modified ranger liner cut to fit bought off Craigslist for $25 )are open so water would drain into bed and out the drainage holes . anything important put in water tight containers with lids or throw small tarp over it under the tonneau . good enough and tonneau works great for my needs .

This is the model bed cover I bought and I love it! My only problem right now is a sparrow who is currently courting the reflections of himself in the back and side windows and sh*tting all over the bed cover in the process!

I went with the Tonnopro Hard Fold. Looks like a soft cover but is actually covered aluminum panels, which also hides the hinge points. I’ve been very satisfied, and high and dry. Only runs $579 delivered and a quick easy install. Go to Tonnopro.com and check it out.

They included a bottle of cleaner/conditioner and plenty of foam to match areas prone to small leaks. As far as leaks I haven't seen anything yet too severe to add it. Paid $215 out the door with the %15 coupon.

I read someplace that the Tyger tonneau cover that you have is a little short..only 54" , so, does it fit alright? I may be misinformed, but I just measured my truck from behind the glass to about an inch onto the plastic on top of the tailgate..56"

I think the Tuxedo Pro X15 is some good bang for your buck. Quality material, I like the fabric look instead of the vinyl look. Easy to install, easy to remove. Cleaning instructions are to take through car wash so that isn't an issue. Low profile, and very little leaking even after heavy rain or car wash.

I give up. Would someone please steer me towards a nice affordable cover. The choice between rolling folding retractable is too much. All I want is a cheap good cover that only leaks a little. Because I hear they all leak. lol Thank you. I need two and I've read here they might get discounts for MTC people?

I actually got the soft cover option for my Mav when I ordered it. It is the soft tri-fold and I have found it does quite well at not leaking. Minor water intrusion after some serious rainfalls and multiple car washings, not perfect but I am satisfied with it. Ford website, accessories, Part No: VNZ6Z99501A42A if interested. Under $600.

I got the MX4, RealTruck gives a nice discount to forum members if you ask! All covers will leak to some extent, but the hard ones wear better long term I think.

Now, my experience is mostly positive, with a small caveat: the included gaskets are trash! I replaced the back of cab gasket with a $5 weatherstrip and have essentially a perfect seal on the back now, sides are dry and only the tailgate seal has a bit of water intrusion. Normal rain or driving is not an issue, just need to remember that if I go through a car wash it may get a bit wet.

I want to get that tonneau cover..just one question...does it cover the metal cross piece just under the back window ok? ( that's the area I am concerned about)

Gator SFX tri-fold. No significant leakage issues, just ponding and corner peel.

Beginning warranty return process. Results unknown at this point.

Just heard back from Extang (the manufacturer of the Gator SFX). They offered a replacement/upgrade with a Trifecta 2.0 -- trivially simple.

This is how customer support should work. Positive shout out to Extang!
