It looks like GM is at least considering a 2 door electric truck with a short bed. This early in the rumor mill feels like it’s a long while from coming to fruition, and who knows we may have an electric Maverick by then. I’ll probably remain skeptical about that price point until we see where the Equinox EV is a year into production. The general idea of an even smaller EV truck at a low price sounds like a cool concept, but feels more niche.

I feel like 2 door puts it in a totally different category. Ain’t no families buying that!

My family would. Just me and the dog.
Many years ago, I had a standard cab Ranger, and even with just me and either the dog or SO, there was really no good place to store stuff that needed to be kept out of the elements, at least not without some kind of bed topper.

Even as a single person with a dog, a 2 door has significant cargo limitations, limits that would preclude many families from buying it.

According to a blog quoting an article who saw a drawing on the wall while walking the halls of the GM building intended for drawing.

Well it's a good thing they have bed toppers then. My Ranger did just fine with one. The dog sat up front with me and I sometimes let the ex-wife come along and ride in the back. She was such a good girl. The wife, not so much.

I'd much rather have a 2 door. My wife and I have zero need for the back seat. If a 2 door Maverick was available, I would've bought that instead.

Same. My 2 door 2011 Ranger with extended cab is the perfect setup for me. The 4 door Mav will be a compromise, but the 30 mpg vs 19 mpg helps ease that a lot... :)

Given their success on building cars that either won't work or need to be parked far away from anything that can burn, this should be a real s##t show.

I always bought regular cabs. The Maverick will be my first Taxi. No back seat in my Mustang either.
