If I remember correctly , some Ford products I drove back in the seventies had different shaped knobs on the dashboard so you could tell them apart by feel while driving ....and of course the keys for the locks , and ignition were different shapes too .

Now that is cool! And something that people back then would have "missed" in newer models, just like us with the AC stuff. Times change, time to move on!

It should be about safety, not convenience! Ok, I am 73 so label me old. It is a fact that the more extra features you have, the bigger chance of something going wrong.
Now there's sensors on top of sensors. The part or system might be good but the sensors don't always hold up and drive you nuts.

This would work on a Maverick and your eyes would never leave the road. This is like the one from my 1975 GMC truck. Almost all manufacturers had close to this exact one. Easy to remember, easy to operate! Nothing electronic to burn out or replace. Once in a blue moon these old units would need a cable replaced or lubed. Easy peezy and cheap, but most of the time extremely dependable!

Didn't Patrick Henry say that, "give me buttons, or give me death."
Right before Benedict Arnold gave him the finger, iirc.

🤪

This is so true. Fastest I ever drove my phone was 55. 😂
Slow phones are problematic.

Phone had a 55 limiter, and I hit the gas. It kept going 55 and put a hole in the back as I accelerated to 75.

Not nearly so bad as when it caught up when I stopped. 4 ounces of phone going 55 knocks out a lot of teeth!
