Bottom line is the hybrid is not going to save the bulk of drivers ordering it all that much gas money.

Having AWD is not a must to drive effectively in snow. That said if I’m making lots of trips in the snow and with the hybrid constraint, I’m looking real hard at EB and I just as well get AWD while I’m at it.

I moved away from snow and Im holding out for the hybrid but I sure wouldn’t mind at all if it were AWD.
Actually, AWD has been a must for all the huge storms out west this year. I80 from SLC has had a lot of chain control days. It is miserable to get out in 15 degrees and get dirty putting chains on. Having the badge for the hwy patrol to see and let you pass is a big reason to own AWD or 4WD on any vehicle in the mountains.

You won't save gas on the hybrid if you can't get one. As a road trip vehicle, the turbo's hwy mpg is not much different than the hybrid anyway.

Unfortunately half of the hybrid order holders will be left hanging and upset, hopefully not you. You might have to switch engines anyway. Sorry for your wait Rick.

Oh yeah if I were doing what you’re doing with your truck then I would have ordered AWD EB from the start. I lived in Kansas and Missouri and I always just had a RWD and drove in plenty of snow but that was flat land driving. No way I would have been good with that in the Rockies.

won’t be too long and people are going to be told it’s EB or wait till MY24.

In today's car-buying environment, sure, but it's great or those of us who ordered early and were able to get a hybrid. Had the Maverick not been available in a hybrid, and at that cheap a pricepoint, we're not even considering trucks. Fortunately we haven't had a need to drive on I-80 on any really heavy snow days (for reference we live right by the base of Provo Canyon).

Fuel efficiency depends so much on your driving behavior. For many, hwy mileage will be similar with the ecoboost, but we are not the only members of this forum averaging close to 50mpg overall in ourhybrid (we're at 49.6mpg after 5100 miles, about half on I-15). I'd love to see an ecoboost regularly get high 40's on the hwy.
