Fully loaded Hybrid Lariat

Christmas came early for my house, picked up this truck a week before the holiday.

The only real option it is missing is the moonroof, list of options added includes:

Copilot360 (+copilot assist features), Lariat lux, Spray in bed liner, Hard tonneau rollup cover, Splash guards, Console vault, Floor liners with carpet mats, 18" black painted wheel upgrade, Truck bed lighting, Window air deflectors, Hood deflector, Wheel lock kit, Tailgate lock

I absolutely love this truck. It shares our driveway with a 2016 no frills CRV. My wife and I can both drive either car to work, the CRV with a Thule on top now specializes in skiing/snow and storage volume trip needs. The truck specializes in MPG, tall/wide item hauling (plywood unlocked!), towing, and is more luxurious (heated seats, remote start, etc).

I would buy this thing again in a heartbeat.

Does the locking console option reduce the amount of stuff you can put in there?

Also, what do you have in there? I considered having a gun in my truck, but decided against it for a few reasons.

I'm sure it reduces the space some, but I don't think it's significant. It does stop you from being able to use the stacking compartment accessories available for purchase. You still have a cutout on the bottom for your remote key spot.

I have the keys for the wheel lock and tailgate lock kits in it, then I use it regularly to store my wallet and phone when I do outdoor activities like fishing/hiking.

My center console has a tendency to get out of control with junk so it's nice for me because I only put things in it intentionally now rather than use it as a junk drawer.

Are you not worried about someone breaking into your truck to steal the one in the door pocket? And what do you do with your carry pistol when you need to go into a facility where firearms are not allowed? Those were the potential use cases I saw for the locking console.
