Correct me if I'm wrong... but with more air don't you need more full? With a factory tune you would not see any gains.

It'll save money in the long run not having to buy replacements.I’ve always done KN drop-ins in all my cars. I like the ease of cleaning, not wasting money and material on replacing every 10k, and idea of a slight power and fuel efficiency gain.
Is this worth it in the hybrid? Will it gain MPG’s or help power?
Yea no gain just a Drain on your Wallet, But doesn't it look CoolCopied from a Facebook group. Originally posted by the Owner of BCRaceworks, Jeff Callaway.
Results are in! Full 3" air intake kit.
This is on a factory tune with NO changes. We made about 10 pulls in factory form to get a good solid base line number. While still on the dyno we installed our prototype 3" intake. We then proceeded to make another 10 dyno runs with the intake.
Would you believe just like we suspected, NO GAIN was to be had!
That means in factory form an air intake is no more than a show piece (which is fine for some). Don't go believing the hype from others.
Factory air box - 224whp/280tq
3" air intake - 223whp/274tq
The TQ variation can be attributed to how quickly the throttle was applied.
We will still be offering this intake for those interested though we will be advertising it appropriately.

Nobody here was saying otherwise, all this really shows is that the stock intake is not a restriction for a stock Maverick. Thus if someone is not doing further mods or tuning, an intake alone isn't going to provide any performance benefit. Simple as that. Yet somehow we have folks on here signing right up for an elbow and filter that's supposedly gaining them 26 ponies and 17 torques.. on a stock tune...It’s almost as if a multi billion dollar company doesn’t test their powertrains for the best power to economy with longevity in mind before they bring a product to market.![]()

But it is plastic and won't transfer as much heat as some of the aftermarket units.there's empirical data and there's the butt dyno. When it comes to intakes the butt dyno usually is the "truth"![]()
And some places market these as CAI (cold air intake). I never could see that logic.Copied from a Facebook group. Originally posted by the Owner of BCRaceworks, Jeff Callaway.

Some don't care as long as it runs better for a while. It stops most of the big chunks!Yikes on the K & N!![]()
I run in dirty conditions I THOUGHT I was doing better by using K&N. But after seeing a couple reports I will never use one again.K&N Marketing has a large budget. Lots don't care if it lets dirt through
