I just had a similar issue. This is after stopping. There was fuel everywhere and dripping from the hood.
Whew glad that didn’t catch on fire 🔥

Note to self: Buy fire extinguisher for Maverick

I hope Ford is paying attention here. I would absolutely be filing this one. This needs to be on regulators radar to get something done.

I would think that the actual fuel line is stainless steel from the tank fitting all the way to the pump??? I know times are tuff and manufacturers want to trim costs, but, plastic or rubber lines are not generally a good idea or common practice on fuel injected vehicles

I can buy rodent damage to the insulation and or isolation (think sound deadening where it would pass through the unibody) material on the line but that wouldn't cause a leak in the actual steel line.

Plastic fuel lines have been common for decades now.

The fuel line looks to be metal, what kind of rodent can chew thru that?

It is not metal. Plastics of some sort. I have the part.

Plastic fuel line... the race to the bottom illustrated without the sports... I hope there will be a swimsuit edition. This is just pure crazy, plastic fuel line. I remember the first time I saw people with the Chevy Cruze first reporting overheating problems back when those cars were new. Turned out there was a plastic manifold splitter that the coolant lines connected to and any pressure at all on them would crack that plastic manifold and over time they would crack and weep. Even a simple oil change trying to get to the filter you could crack it with any pressure on the hoses. Now we are making everything out of plastic including fuel lines... What could possibly go wrong? Rodents! Make sure to make it out of that soy base plastic they use on electrical wiring now. The rodents love that for desert! LOL

It really is a miracle that these vehicles are as reliable as they are given the one time use parts, connectors, stretch bolts etc...
