Damn that's pretty accurate. Thanks for sharing.
Where are you from?
KC Metro area, KS/MO - so midwest.

-9 F was lowest at home last Jan during that data, but here's better view for that May 24-May 25 fill-up range for compare.

I’m in Maine and with pretty aggressive snow tires my mileage has gone from
42-46 to about 36 mpg this early winter. I have been doing more highway driving though. This is still way better than my last truck, a Frontier

Use seat heaters and wheel heater as much as you want. Power use is trivial at best. Like the power of a headlamp.

Use the heater blower fan on the lowest blower setting that works for you.

I find Max temp setting and lower fan speed lowers fuel consumption. I control cabin temperature with fan speed not thermostat setting.

You see, a "medium" setting heats the air fully then brings in some cold air to cool it to your setting. Like running the heat with a window open.

Air conditioner same thing. It chills the air fully then brings in warmer outside air to moderate it. Like running the Ac with the window open.
Freg I had no idea!
That's great, thanks so much for sharing!!!
I have me heater at room temperature!
Seats and stearing wheel are always heated!
Thanks again much appreciated!

Hi Garry, I'm from Chilliwack BC and my numbers are a bit different from those that I have seen posted here. Chilliwack is quite small and my city drives are usually not very long or far. As a result I take a big hit as the cold arrives. I will not likely see -15C here, although it has been that cold in the last year or so. The engine takes awhile to warm up and in the short drives milage is rather poor. I am around 7 l/100km unless I drive for awhile, not great. However when driving into Vancouver with all the construction on the highway average speed is down to 80kmh or so and I have seen 5.0 l/100 while driving under those conditions even as the temp drop to 3 to 5 C. I have installed Cooper AT tires but have not seen a measurable drop in range since they were installed.

With the hybrid Mav there is a similar situation to my Leaf BEV. Range drops in the cold, the Leaf due to less energy in the battery and with the hybrid the gas engine needs to run more to keep the occupants and engine warm. The Maverick kicks the s**t out of my previous Nissan Titan during the winter. The Titan around town in the winter was over 15 l/100 km around town, dismal milage. The best thing about the Maverick is that it does 98% of what the Titan did AND has more rear seat room.

As a comparison, my daughter's Rav4 Hybrid says it is doing 7.5 l/100. I think she has a heavy foot but the Rav does not do nearly as well as my Maverick as far as I can tell.

Hey BP, I'm very familiar with Chilliwack BC. One of my friends works at the border. Temperature was -17 this am to give you an idea. Those are still some pretty good numbers? I filled up a few days ago and reset my trip 2. It's now showing 9.8L/100km. I was hoping it would be better but most of my trips are usually less than 15 minutes drive so that might play a factor. Still better than the Equinox I had.
🤞 The numbers get better because the temperature is only going to be worse.

I'm not that cold but my MPGs drop into the mid to upper 20s and that was before the new 235 ATs. This winter is going to be rough.
This 'winter's is already rough. Over a foot of snow and temps below zero. Warming up the Maverick and cold driving lowers efficiency. But, as I averaged over 48mpg over the summer I'm still happy.

Was that 48 hand calculated?

When it was newer I did it by hand a couple of times. Came within a couple of percent. Haven't done it by hand on my '24 for a year.
