Fuel door stuck

The damn door wouldn't open after pressing the button multiple times. Then I remembered about the green latch in the rear wheel well. Pulled that sucker and the door popped magically. Thank God for this forum. After that I got a fuel door error message on the dash then it went away after that.

A couple weeks ago I also had a fuel door problem..... I filled up a few weeks before..... one day I went into my garage and there was a very strong gasoline smell.... I checked the fuel door and it was closed..., the problem was somehow the emergency fuel pull cord got stuck and would not pull out..... why the problem took 2 weeks to develop the smell is the $ million question... I hope this helps someone if they have a similar problem... drive safe....

Not pertaining to our Hybrid Mavericks but could be helpful for with other vehicle... hope not to get stranded situations. I was running on less than fumes with my 2022 Toyota Carolla hybrid when I pulled into Santa Clarita CA Sam Club for gas. What the ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... grrrr
fuel hatch cover (sorry am NAVY, reminds me of hatch not door would not open when pushing opener. Closest fuel was several long miles away as in multiple stop signs and even more stop lights. Desperate... had a what if idea. Took Sam' Club charge card pushed it into gap at bottom right corner of hatch figuring the now slightly bent, "C" shape card, would put pressure on the hatch when button was pushed.... pop.... hatch snapped open, card fell and slight wind put the card under car. Somewhat embarrassing on belly reaching for needed card to active gas pump. But was pleased to have such a brilliant idea that actually worked.
