While I agree in general it's what society want electric everything, its really what a couple generations were brought up on.

Once upon a time Power Steering, Power Brakes, tinted windows, options like this were all stand alone. These started getting bundled. According to Auto companies reduce complexity.....bull...it is $$$$$$

Car buyers today have become accustomed to these convenient features.

Heck I like most of them. It is just sad that outside of mandated safety and emission feature one cannot order a vehicle as they please.

My F150 has home link. I had to get a Lariat to get that option. Thats just $$$$ greed. An option I really like as I have multiple doors to open. Having 3 remotes on my sun visor ahhh nope.
Older generations will not sustain an industry. See what happened to Cadillac. To Lincoln. To Oldsmobile. Etc. They're either shells of what they once were, or dead. If the money wasn't in the younger demographics, automakers wouldn't target them, but they do. Follow the money.

Again, if you or anyone else disagrees, this is America, so you can start your own car company. You can even crowdfund it. But I'll bet that you won't. You'll just grumble about it on the internet. Complaining for complaining's sake is an American past time.

I don't know what year your F-150 is, but at least for 2021 and later, the Lariat was available in a lower trim level without the Homelink transmitter, only having it in the mid and high trim levels within the Lariat trim. It's on Ford's site right now in the 2022 build & price.

Unless you have more to discuss that hasn't already been hashed out, this will be my final reply to you.

Im not complaining only pointing out if one has only known electric everything how can you actually make an informed choice. You have no option other than to buy 60, 70 year old car.

Is power steering necessary..no, elec windows necessary.. no

are they convenient yes. Do I like them yes.

My point was auto companies didn't do this to be nice they did it for $$$$$

I guess being old, some people are so inflexible to change that people like you don't know that electric power steering IS necessary for safety tech in modern vehicles. It's how vehicles such as the Maverick gently steer you back into your lane if you drift out without signaling, thereby saving people from horrific accidents.

You want a simpler car, go buy one. They exist, but they're old clunkers. You make your choices, or you grumble and bitch and moan. You do not have to buy a modern vehicle. You can sell it all or not buy it, and go back to the older stuff.

But no, people like you just want to complain.

God I hope there’s no door release. Just assumed we’d get the same non locking/capless system Ford has been using for years.
My Lariat is just push the door to release or re-latch

LOL as a Canadian, its jarring how negative Americans can be seemingly out of nowhere. Like there will be guys who raise a stink about things that have a 1% chance of happening b/c what, they're bored?

Where you got the complaing part is a mystery. I only pointed out the car companies added features and bundled for $$$

Any one who has to have P.S. because they feel it's a safety feature has no business operating a motor vehicle on a public highway.

The nanny state has even taken over minds.

All the gas sold near me has ethanol in it. In the last year the federal government upped this from 10 percent ethanal to 15%.
I would like to have 0% ethanol but in the area I live this is not a choice we are given. So being stuck with ethanol gas I am glad the Maverick is made to accommodate this.

The closest one would take a 2 hour round trip to drive to. Your lucky to have the option close by.

Ha ha ha, how do people even come up with something so trivial to start a thread?
Then people throw hateful symbols around. I don’t think OP was serious. But I am at a loss, with this thread.
40 posts about something that is probably a new requirement of the Feds. What a waste of bandwidth.

You know your getting gas before you get out.
The gas station will not sneak up on you and as you walking away from your truck suddenly the gas station jumps out and you must go back and push the button to open the filler door.
Fuel quality keeps go in ng down, The government keeps upping the amount of ethanol that can be in the fuel. More ethanal means fuel going bad sooner. We are having all kinds of fuel problems in off road motorcycles that sit a few months between use.
I hope you are not putting gas containing ethanol in your motorcycles or any small engine!

E10 is no problem for OPE if you run it dry before storage. E0 if you want to store it with gas.
