Older generations will not sustain an industry. See what happened to Cadillac. To Lincoln. To Oldsmobile. Etc. They're either shells of what they once were, or dead. If the money wasn't in the younger demographics, automakers wouldn't target them, but they do. Follow the money. While I agree in general it's what society want electric everything, its really what a couple generations were brought up on.
Once upon a time Power Steering, Power Brakes, tinted windows, options like this were all stand alone. These started getting bundled. According to Auto companies reduce complexity.....bull...it is $$$$$$
Car buyers today have become accustomed to these convenient features.
Heck I like most of them. It is just sad that outside of mandated safety and emission feature one cannot order a vehicle as they please.
My F150 has home link. I had to get a Lariat to get that option. Thats just $$$$ greed. An option I really like as I have multiple doors to open. Having 3 remotes on my sun visor ahhh nope.
Again, if you or anyone else disagrees, this is America, so you can start your own car company. You can even crowdfund it. But I'll bet that you won't. You'll just grumble about it on the internet. Complaining for complaining's sake is an American past time.
I don't know what year your F-150 is, but at least for 2021 and later, the Lariat was available in a lower trim level without the Homelink transmitter, only having it in the mid and high trim levels within the Lariat trim. It's on Ford's site right now in the 2022 build & price.
Unless you have more to discuss that hasn't already been hashed out, this will be my final reply to you.
