Hello all,

I took my 1-month-old Mav on the highway for the first time and I noticed a sound coming from the front passenger door/window area. It sounded like rain coming down on the roof of the truck. I had my wife push on the glass and push/pull the door and it never fixed the issue. It wouldn't happen all the time, but it only happens at highway speeds. 99% of my driving is 35-45mph so I never heard this before.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?

Thanks

Yes, mine does it as well. I drive mostly interstate at around 70ish mph. It is more pronounced on windy days. Only comes from the passenger side as you've mentioned. Not sure if maybe some of the weatherstripping is making the noise or what. Door is closed nice and solid. I usually just turn the radio up and ignore it. I would take it in to the dealership but I'm sure I'll get the ole "can't replicate the noise"...

Yes! Mine has done this since the first time I rolled the passenger window down and back up. Not sure if that's related. Haven't noticed any other issues such as water infiltration to go along with it.

I would check for defective/mis-installed seal, trim, etc... This is not a "all Mavericks" thing. If you can't figure it out, make use of your warranty with a competent dealer.

My fathers Maverick did this for the first time Saturday. Noticeable at speeds over 60 mph, depending on how hard the wind was blowing/direction. Plan to look for anything obvious later this week. Otherwise will have our dealership look at it when in for the next service.

Number of other vehicles, including some Ford, have this issue. In most cases, re-calibrating the window fixes that:

Or, you could try the method in the Ford specific video:

FYI, Ford reached out to me and requested that I schedule an appointment with my local dealer to check the truck. I did check the weather stripping and it all looked fine. I will keep you posted as things progress.

Yep mine is noisy too. Wind deflectors or not, this is the first vehicle I have actually noticed the wind noise. It doesn't bother me, but it's noticeable.

FYI, the local dealership could not find any issue with the car. It was taken out on the highway by two different techs and nothing was noticed. They suggested that the next time it happens we use our phones to record the sound.
Case closed.

It's weird because mine does it randomly.

I was only going 90km/h on the highway and getting that sound, but yesterday I don't remember hearing it at 110km/h (but it could have been because the music was loud.)

I'll also keep my ears open and try to record next time I notice it.
