I was cursing down the high way on a nice summer day, was on the road for about 30 minutes when I get a warning on the dash "Front Camera Fault. Service Required"

Now adaptive cruise and front collision warnings don't work and the worst part is the warning pop up every 5-10 minutes when I am leisurely driving. I've heard the horror stories about issues and I still am waiting to get parts for the recalls I need to get done for the car but now this!

Has anyone run into this before?
I have seen someone on the forum with warnings saying there are obstructions to the camera or sensor but my message is different, it clearly says camera fault.

The dealer can run for codes to see what the problem is but this is the problem with all the new technology in cars, more chance for things to fail. And wait until you see the cost to fix once out of warranty.

Have you added any accessories to the same circuit as the camera? Made any electrical or software modifications? If so, might try rolling those back and see if it resolves on its own.

Clean the front of your vehicle?

I've had it happen during inclement weather or when there is a bunch of crap covering the camera/sensors.

I had a similar issue with my Ford F-150 with this error and a couple of others. Check your fuses and make syre they are seated good, I had several fuses that were making contact but not fully seated. After I seated all the fuses I stopped having the problems with the random popups. cant say this will ficx your issue but it is worth a try.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

I have not touched or modified this car, thoughts of tapping things into it for the front dash cam did come to mind but I purposefully routed everything to a cig lighter just so I wouldn't have to get into it with the dealership.

Nice! Good advice!
I just too a glance at the interior fuses to make sure they were all good but I didn't think to press them in for good measure.

Does anyone know what that front camera fuse might be? Maybe I should just swap it out to see if it'll make a difference. Whatever I can do to avoid going back to the dealership...

Check the owners manual. Swapping a good fuse won't make a difference. Unfortunately they don't put the info on the back of the fuse panel anymore.

The descriptions were not sufficient in the manual - from previous experience tho, even if it passes a multi meter test sometimes swapping the fuse does make a difference, but thats with older cars. I've had a bad fuse once that looked completely fine but once you take it out and really hold it up to the sun you could see there was a small fracture.

:ROFLMAO: no s*

But you just never know until you know which fuse - directions in manual unclear. Not going to touch it for now and see if ford will deal with it but im not hopeful. Not sure how dealerships are in your area but mine are terrible.

Jeez, ordering a newly designed vehicle is the first two years is always a problem. Especially if loaded up with gee-gaws. Fortunately My stripped 23 Maverick has had NO problems after 5k miles.

Rule #1. If it's anything electrical check voltage of 12v battery at battery and at several locations to insure close to 12v is pretty much everywhere.
