Proximity warning sensors are different than the ACC system, but it would be great if the ACC could be tweaked to give you forward visibility for parking and such.
On the Lariat if i'm too close to the vehicle in front of me, my display will show a graphic of my truck with a yellow (caution) road. One time I got distracted when rolling up to stopped traffic and I got a very abrupt warning.
I was expecting some kind of warning, I have a lariat. Maybe I wasn’t close enough. Reflecting on that moment, now I don’t recall if acc had turned itself off. This calls for another test! 😁

I would expect a warning as well, Maybe you unconsciously had your foot on the brake?
I believe ACC is not operational at low speeds. I think you need to be going over 45, but the manual would be a better source on this than I. Keep us posted because you definitely want that warning to be working.

I've owned the Maverick since 1/10/2024 and I still can't judge the Maverick front end placement as accurately as I did on my Nissan Frontier (Which sat about 2 1/2" higher than stock). My wife even more so having moved from her Honda CRV. Probably going to do the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in the carport for my wife (and by wife, I mean me..).
I use a laser guide parking device similar to this. Mine is sound activated as opposed to motion (change in light).

I also have a tennis ball. My garage was built in the 30's. My test drive stopped at home to see how tight the fit was.

Before Tesla began massively cutting the prices on their cars, I bought a 2023 Model 3 with full self driving (a $19,500 CDN option at the time). Elon removed the front and rear acoustic parking sensors on that car (didn't reduce the list price though) with the idea that his enhanced camera system would more than make up for the lack of the sensors that used to be standard front and rear.
And typical of Tesla, DIDN"T SUPPLY THE SOFTWARE TO RUN THE CAMERAS. I waited over four months for the update (which did finally come, but after I had given up on the car).
My 2012 Volt had front and rear parking sensors, using the speaker system to alert you as to which corner of the car was getting close. So when I got a 2023 XLT Hybrid, I was disappointed to have no sensors so the day it arrived (13 month wait), I ordered a 2024 Lariat Hybrid so I could at least get rear sensors.
I'm glad Ford has finally seen its way to offer front sensors as well, but sadly, the 25 restyle is too ugly to make another upgrade. These sensors work well and are not complex problematic systems. They should be standard on all models.

My ACC includes full stop & go, as long as you aren’t at a full stop for longer than about a minute or so. If longer, you just need to press resume & ACC takes over again from zero up to the previous set speed or the set following distance.

Had a real opportunity to use it today, it is totally awesome in stop & go freeway traffic.

Im not as thrilled with the lane centering. While it steers well even on curves, it’s a bit jerky.

I did get one ‘crash’ warning when the car in front made a right hand turn & didn’t complete move into the right turn lane. Red alarm as I passed close.

I've never had rear parking sensors before my Lariat, but I really do like them. Yeah, I wish I had them on the front also. I guess now you can get the front ones on the '25. I calibrated my eyes for the truck by (carefully) pulling up close to my other vehicles at home while leaving extra room until I knew how close they really were.
The boxy front end really takes some getting used to, especially when coming from a vehicle with a slopped hood. I still stop way too far back when parking front first! I tend to back in more now!

Great! Sounds like everything is working as it should. Thanks for the update.

If you can bring yourself to trust ACC And do not release the speed set by touching the brake pedal it will stop the truck about three or five feet behind the vehicle it's following. I cannot bring myself to trust it that closely.

I've experienced the truck slowing down to keep the adjusted distance away from the vehicle ahead, but not the "full stop" heart pounding experience.
