Forum Purpose ?

I have learned a lot about the Ford Maverick on this forum and I thank those of you who contribute positive thoughts and ideas about the Maverick. It is great to see the photos of the modifications, accessories, or additions to your Maverick with a FULL EXPLANATION of what you did and where to source the parts you used. Some of your genius ideas would only get me in trouble if I tried your alterations, so I leave that alone; especially the electrical stuff.
Here is my gripe ! Why do some you post pictures of what you have done to your Maverick, write an explanation of it, and give your opinion of how it turned out without sharing where the rest of us might find whatever it is, maybe how much it costs, and any obstacles you might have encountered when self installing ? Those who don't are either too ignorant to communicate or too selfish to share your accomplishment with the rest of us. It is highly likely you don't have the only Maverick with a tonneau cover or whatever. And please don't ask me to PM you for your little secrets because you will likely mislead or short change me in your reply.
A Forum is a place where ideas or information can be exchanged not a place to inflate your ego. Enough ?

If you ask a question about the mod it usually doesn't even get a response. I stopped even looking at the mod posts it's just a waste of my time.

I agree. It's so easy to post a link. Sometimes the post says the part was got on Amazon, but no link. But the item can't be found for a Maverick. So apparently they got the part that was for another model (Ranger?) and fits the Maverick. But it would be so much easier if the person says "I got it on Amazon, and here's the link."

THIS is your gripe about this forum?? Haha not the people just posting to rant and argue?? Someone posts something somewhat useful and you call them too ignorant and selfish to share every little detail? My gosh lol what has this forum come to im sorry i didnt send you my receipts for my tonneau and katzkin. Fortunately you have google just like i did. Or are you too ignorant for search engines? Too far?

I haven't looked much into mods yet for the Maverick. I also participate in an equivalent Mustang forum where I've read lots of mod related posts. Although I have noticed posts there that lack detail and links, etc., people generally seem happy to provide those things in response to follow up questions.

Sometimes people really did not do the work and just post after the fact and can't really tell you otherwise.

Sometimes they are lazy like me they start it and then realize I did not document it dange it so better of sharing then keeping to oneself.

Sometimes you get a person of intellect and thoughtfulness and they are the true heroes of the forums the rest of us leach off of ideas from. Like this cat "baaron" an absolute hero with meticulous notes, updates and photos.

There are more of lazy people then like peeps like Baaron & Mrboom_5.0.


Just hang out and let the stars shine.

I've been on this forum a while and most of the mods I've done involved audio. In that forum, there are many who have been forthcoming with information and assistance. I was able to perform my modifications based on others that posted their build details and I was able to make a few modest contributions myself.

Even with other (non-audio) mods and accessories, this forum is bountiful in regards to details, photos, and instructions.

What have you contributed?
