Yes, that is the correct about the cap on the doc fee. Dealers don't have to accept X-plan. It is a choice.I didn't pay a $249 adm fee unless things have changed since I purchased in May. I did pay the $100 doc fee which is limited by Ford. This saved me $799 as normal Virginia Doc fees are $899.
In this case it's administration fee. Ford charges it in the calculation of the vehicle X-plan price. -0.04% off invoice + $275.Just an FYI, when someone uses "adm" fee in relation to car buying these days, it usually means "additional dealer markup" which refers to the practice of dealers marking the vehicle up over MSRP.
I think you mean a doc. fee, which is the fee dealers charge to create/file all the right docs for you vehicle sale.
My X-Plan is only saving me around $825 on a Lariat Lux, but it is saving me another $400 by capping the DOC fee and stops my dealer's attempt to get a "$1500 Custom Order Fee" as well.In this case it's administration fee. Your X-Plan price should be on your signed order.Ask to see the invoice which lists the X-Plan price. That’s the price they are to charge you under X-Plan, factoring is the program administration fee. Max doc fee they can charge you on top of that is $100 unless your state law sets a lower cap.
For those who ordered whose dealers selected that option when printing the Preview Order report, yes, it should be on there.Your X-Plan price should be on your signed order.

$75 AZ and $100 X-Plan is the max doc fee Ford allows dealers to charge. Ford does not require this fee and does not receive it; it’s just profit for the dealer. Some states may not permit a doc fee that high, in which case the lower amount prevails. My DORA sheet shows a total MSRP for my 23MY Lariat Hybrid, with just the $100 hitch at $29,550.
Plan pricing shown on the bottom of my Dora is as follows:
A/Z PLAN - $28,143.60 - - - - D PLAN - $28,243.60 - - - - X PLAN - $29,219.36
- - - - A/Z = 4.8% - - - - - - - - - - D = 4.4% - - - - - - - - - - - X = 1.126%
(Savings percentages are calculated and are rounded up or down)
I don't know other dealer fees for honoring these plans, but my dealer said there is a $75.00 fee that is set by FORD to cover the Z PLAN paperwork. In my case, it also eliminates the standard $645 dealer fee. That's a $570 savings for me plus the Z Plan discount from my uncle who worked at FORD for over 40 years. On top of this, I get the $2,750 22my rebate from FORD.
So, minus tax and title - $25,468.60 out the door. This is actually $462.72 less than if FORD would have built the 22my Maverick I ordered in October of 2021. As my Maverick is being built as I type this, I would have gladly paid the $462.72 extra not to have waited for 396 days for this day!
I wanted to make damned sure they printed it out at the time of order (since they don't have to choose to honor it) so that I don't get any "What X-Plan?" from someone new.For those who ordered whose dealers selected that option when printing the Preview Order report, yes, it should be on there.

They should do it without any complaints but some dealers don't know what they're doing and others are shady.I wanted to make damned sure they printed it out at the time of order (since they don't have to choose to honor it) so that I don't get any "What X-Plan?" from someone new.
I told my initial salesman that I wanted to make an X-Plan order and he took it to the sales manager who told him "We've never done one before...but why not?" This corner of Wyoming is NOT a big market for the AZX plans. Everyone here seems to work for the Railroad or mines. They should do it without any complaints but some dealers don't know what they're doing and others are shady.
Big AZ-Plan market here so all I needed to ask was to confirm they'd honor it on an order, and they knew to select it for the printout. And they honored the AZ price from date of order upfront, no wait for price protection. The order was also entered as such so it was on record as an AZ Plan deal from the start.
Others have had trouble getting their dealer to give them that price upfront especially if they don't know to ask. That's what I was getting at. It's just a checkbox to display Plan pricing.
Moving from my cancelled 2022 order (11/3/21) to my new build 2023, If everything was the same, I'd be paying $702.91 more for the 2023 after the $2750 private offer/rebate. So it really doesn't quite cover it.
I took off some constraining items and added in the new BAP. So after adding and subtracting those changed items it seems reasonable to me that I will end up paying $702 more for a year newer model, supposedly be placed near the head of the 2023 line, and get free NAV. My glass is half full.
