Getting ready to decide on what I want to do for a very mild lift for my Maverick and thought I would post Ford recommended torque specs from the service manual. Most of the lift manufacturers don't include torque specs for some reason. Also, I've seen this done incorrectly on just about every lift video I've watched on youtube and I'm glad the ford service manual mentions this. Anytime you're tightening fasteners for a bushing, you should do it with vehicle weight loaded. If you do it without the preloaded weight that's a great way of ruining your bushings prematurely.

Enjoy

Exactly what I was looking for to get my springs on. Fantastic and thank you!

This outta be pinned to the top.

Very helpful info I used when installing my lowering springs.
I did reuse the hardware, but only because I didn't know Ford recommended replacement. Had I known, I would have replaced.

Reminder all Bolts listed on the workshop manual and nuts are one time use. You can reused them but its not recomended as some of them are torque to yield bolts and will stretch.

Wouldn't the manual specify if the bolts were TTY? I had this discussion in the rear dif thread and nobody knows, but I talked to one service manager who said usually they do specify. I guess I could check the manual for something like head bolts but I'm mobile right now.

I know they come with a factory dried thread locker so I assume that is likely the reason they want you to discard bolts. It would be odd, but not beyond FORD at least, to use TTY for suspension components.

Anyone know?

I used the torque specs here when I installed my lift. I have had no issues, even with the retorqe after 500 miles (+/-). Nearing 10k after the lift now still no problem. I can't think of a reason the front wheel and all wheel would have different specs. They all have the same mounting points, bolt sizes, and thread count. So there would be no reason for them to be different, that I can tell.

I installed a superlift 2.5 yesterday and I have a clunking noise. Come to find out, one of the spacers that sits on the top of the strut assembly, came stripped. Now I have to figure all this out. Annoying.

That is one of the reasons I avoided strut spacers. I have known a few people that have installed them on FWD cars, and most of them like them and have some kind issues. I like my rough country strut lift. Except for the suspension sitting at nearly full droop. But the next step will be subframe spacers. They will mostly correct the suspension angles amd bump me up another 1.5"

Yeah. I figured I’d gamble since I mostly read good reviews. Good thing there’s some type or warranty.
