I use a product called Fluid Film (also called WoolWax) that is lanolin-based. I live in the Rust Belt and have tried a lot of things over the course of 30+ years. I won’t touch Zeibart or rubberized undercoating anymore. It dries, doesn’t stick well, flakes off, and even traps crud behind it (promoting more rust). I have not tried Krown, but would expect it to work well too. Things that stay soft/fluid have worked best for me. They are self-healing to a certain degree, but do need to be touched up (I do touch-up’s annually).
I used Fluid Film on my 2011 Ranger here in Maine and it had very minimal rust when I sold it a few months ago. Good product!
I've tried a number of different kinds of corrosion preventing treatments over the years (50+). Waxoyl has been my choice recently. Having a competent installer is key to keeping it rust free. The place I go to removes all the underbody panels/wheelwell liners etc, pressures washes as needed and then applies the treatment. They use 2 types, one on exposed surfaces (a black hard wax type) and the other inside doors, hood, tailgate that is less viscous and seeps into tiny cracks etc. A followup inspection is recommended every several years on the areas exposed to abrasion from road traction materials.

Never had a Ford rust on me. Of course, I do live in Texas where the only salt you may get is if you live right on the gulf coast
Ziebart is not a bad idea if you live in a rust prone area. I used to live in Erie Pa. Rust capital if the US.
I had a 10 year old '68 Mustang that was Ziebarted when it was new and only had rust through on one fender that been replaced and not rustproofed.
Now I live in South Texas. Rust not so much a problem.
All that being said, new vehicles are better at fighting rust than the older ones were. The industry started making changes in the 80's
Our Maverick bodies were submerged in an e-coat solution. Where an electrical charge attracted the pigment to the metal body. Then the whole thing was baked.
If you want to go the undercoating route, many on on this forum will have a different idea as to what is the best.
Lump me into the anti-ziebart group. It's a great product... until it isn't. When/if it cracks, saltwater will get between the coating and the metal and devour it of rust unseen. No thanks. I don't expect perfection from any rustproofing but dislike the concept of not being able to see it when it does fail. Further, some mechanics won't work on ziebart-ed vehicles for certain work (or they'll add billable hours) since the fasteners are a bitch to actually get a wrench/bit/etc on.
If you ask this rust-belter, polyurethane spray when new, and oil coatings whenever that starts wearing off (entropy > all) are the way to go. If you're buying used, just oil spray it every fall. Krown is the most recognizable oil spray, but there are lots of options there. Oil sprays are $100-200 per year around me. I purchased a $600 polyurethane spray from the dealer that I expect to last 4-7 years. So, a bunch of years of not having to muck with it were worth that $600 to me.

No offense, but…with all of the issues with the hybrid version of our tucks, I think worrying about rust down the road may be the least of the worries…

A false statement about Fords and rust. I live in a northern state and see every brand rusting out. Trucks, cars, vans, you name it. Makes no difference who built it, the rust will attack all steel made vehicles.

I've had Ziebart done on three of my last Fords, had the complete package done on my Maverick Lariat Lux. Got 275 thousand & 20 years on my last F150, no complaints with Ziebart or Ford. I'm in central Ohio with lots of salt.
My 99 E150 van just recently started to rust. I haven't had any vehicle start rusting through with holes before 8 years. Those old Square body Chevy's of the 70's and 80's sure rotted away quick though.
