you've only scratched the surface on #2 but agreed it sounds pretty good so far. hopefully that continues but "stay on high alert" would be my advice.
My ordering experience was very pleasant, very reminiscent of the above example. That was of course until the dealer notified me my order was canceled. At the end of the day we are at the mercy of individual dealers..

I never received any confirmation from Ford which is why I regularly checked from day one. I only got verbal assurances from the sales manager. I had assumed my email was never entered but the order number would not show up in customer service inquiries hence my theory that either it was never was entered due to incompetence or because that number never existed in my name and the dealer used my information to create an order with a different # but entered another email so I couldn’t be contacted by Ford.
Maybe I’ve gotten jaded as I age and this whole episode is just a screwup. I may never know the real story.
This dealership owes you an explanation!
Consider calling the dealership general manager and explaining your situation! tell him that you are very disappointed and that you were depending on getting a 23 maverick!
Ask him to put aside one of his dealer stock Maverick orders for you at MSRP, and that you will be ever so grateful!
If he says no - consider giving the dealership a scathing Yelp review!
If this is just another scummy dealer, make him pay for his greed and deceit!

Please let us know if this has a happy ending!

Agreed. I sent an email to the sales manager earlier today regarding the refunded deposit and said I assume the order is officially dead as well as venting my frustration.
His reply was that the refund was automatically done since no order was listed on the dealership books to associate with and he is still waiting for Ford rep to help clear the mess up. I’m not optimistic obviously.
As far as the dealer stock idea it’s been mentioned that dealers are unable to order hybrids for stock at this time and I have no interest in an EB since it doesn’t get a significantly better fuel mileage than my gen 5 Ranger and that was my main reason for getting the Maverick aside from the size advantage for my use.
On the other hand considering how everyone is inflating the asking price of used it could be an opportunity to bridge the gap until I can score the hybrid 😁

The purge needs to happen with incompetent dealers and management at Ford. Do not believe what many dealers say. Wait another 6 months - 1 year. Half of them will be without jobs if sales keep declining and interest rates keep increasing.

Well, the only thing is why doesn't simply ford limit the total number of orders via software? As soon as X number of orders are entered and it closes out. This is a fairly easy thing to do in software. They could always reopen the order banks later if they decided they could handle more orders.
That's a reasonable point! Unfortunately I've seen little evidence of particular competence among the database developers (or maybe it's their managers, or some other part of their system, who knows.) But they could not even send basic update emails to all the customers who'd ordered Mavericks, each email seemed to miss many thousands of people who should've gotten them.

Not competent. (I do programming for a living, this level of mailing list stuff is not rocket science...Dedicating one junior staff to it should've been more than enough it seems from the outside anyhow.)

If they communicate it soon, that may be the best. Better than wondering for a year what's going on.
I agree. I haven't received one email from dealer or Ford since my 11/1/21 order. I call Ford Consumer Relations [haha](800 392 3673) to get info on my build. All you need is the Sales code and dealer order number or the VIN.

Question, ordered my 2023 XLT in the last few days it was opened. Received email from Ford stating order was received. Am I in the good?

That is a BIG question and you will receive many answers. But at this point, with orders now closed, there is only one thing you can do to possibly improve your chances of getting your truck!

The Ford imposed deadline for dealers to submit COVP's (customer verification information) is 10-5-22, tomorrow!
Call your dealer now and ask that he send in your COVP information in to Ford before the deadline. Hopefully he will say: No problem!
After 10-5-22, there will be nothing further you can do to help ensure that your order gets delivered. Just keep in touch with your dealer asking about your order's progress, and wait.

I have not heard anyone say definitively what the benefit of COVP submission is concerning MY2023 orders!
The prevailing theories seem to be that 2023 COVP may speed order delivery time, or may give the dealer extra allocations. If anyone knows for sure, jump in!
