Considering either the soft folding bed cover, or the Truxedo roll-up bed cover from the Ford Pass site. Has anyone used either of these? Any recomendations? My biggest worry with the folding cover is that there will not be enough room at the end with the smaller bed and it being folded up.

Also how is instillation on these? Can you DIY pretty easily, or would you recomend professional?

Finally would one be better than the other in terms of keeping your items in the back dry?

Hi. I have the "Soft Folding Bed Cover" from ford https://accessories.ford.com/maverick-2022-2024-soft-folding-bed-cover-for-45-bed-vnz6z99501a42h and do not like it as it sticks about a foot and a half into the bed. It makes loading large items difficult as it blocks a lot of the available bed space. It is very easy to install though.

Also to note, if you have a bed extender installed (at least an aftermarket one from amazon like i do) it blocks the release handles for the cover so it's doable but a pain to work around.

I don't like any of the soft folding bed covers. I find them distracting as these covers inflate like a balloon while driving due to the air pressure differences created by the movement of the vehicle.

I got the Truxedo “hard” rollup and really like it. It only covers a few inches of the bed when rolled up and after 15 months of use still looks brand new (with some washing and a coat of protectant). I understand it’s relatively easy to put it on the bed, but I had it installed when I bought it.

If you can follow directions use a screwdriver and a power drill with ease, you're more than capable of installing your own tonneau cover.

That's the same cover I have by "Huh um", Rough Country. You just paid extra to be able to fold it up tight to the cab window. They're low profile hard folding cover.

I just used the @Realtruck discount and purchased a Gator hard tri-fold for a lot less than what Ford wanted. It fits great, but the one "complaint" I have is that the last section doesn't flip up - I knew this going in. However, you can take it off and put it back on without tools in about 30 seconds. If I do haul larger items I just quickly remove it.

If I were to get another one I would pay the extra and get the version that flips up against the rear window.

I went with the Ford soft folding cover and I REALLY REGRET IT!
Although stuff in the bed stays pretty dry, the wind buffets the thing like crazy. I tried double sided tape and Velcro, but once the sun hits it for a bit the glue softens and now I have a sticky mess. It’s really easy to take off and put on though. The latches are kinda cheesy too. I can’t wait for it to break or rip so I can get a hard cover…
