I just received confirmation on my order from Ford with this disclaimer:

Don’t understand why your dealer gave you that delay date to order, must be idiots. Go to another dealer.

I may, but I am still not decided on the Maverick or the Bronco Sport just yet. Was going to decide by Sunday and order either one but seems I cannot get the Maverick. Going to contact a few other dealers, but most of the ones around here want a few grand as a deposit

I received an order confirmation via email, but it hasn't shown up yet in my Ford account.

Yep - had to know this was coming given almost every other make/model being pushed back or slowed down.

I spoke with my dealer (in Canada) and he gave me a FAQ document that I'll post later but shows no deposit needed at order request time, I already had another dealer try and squeeze a deposit out of me, but later 'oh we'll check if it's a requirement"

At the end of the day, the deposit goes to the vehicle as a down payment, right? I completely understand why one would not want to pay anything that is not required, but I see my $1,000 deposit essentially as an early down payment.
