I got a new pretend ETA from Ford Chat today...3/10. That would have it sitting in the Denver railyard for 16 days.
My ETA on the tracker still hasn't changed but then it still hasn't updates since 2/9. As of Thursday the dealer said it was set to be delivered tomorrow. As far as I know it's still sitting in Tampa so I highly doubt that.

My original order was 15 Aug 21. The salesman that put in my info did it wrong and I was not actually in the system. I did not hear from Ford or my dealer so I went back to the dealer 20 Oct 21 and got in the system. XLT Hybrid with hitch as the only option. In Oct 22 got a vin and date. They kept pushing the build date back and back. Then they gave me a date of 9 Jan 23. I think they just were 6900 hybrids short and they rolled us over. I just wanted the hybrid ( and hitch) and hung in there. Then I got a new build date and a new vin two weeks away, the week of 13 Feb 23. Built on 15 Feb 23 and shipped on 16 Feb 23 and it was on the dealers lot in 6 days and it was mine on 23 Feb 23. Once they had the parts it was bing bang boom. The last part happened so fast I still can't believe I have my truck. 545 days give or take. And the dealer made it one of the easiest transactions I've ever has with an auto dealer. And so it ends.

Let us all be more optimistic now that a third shift will be added. When my Maverick was built I felt bad about being in the 400 Club. Little did I know I was going to actually be a member of the 500 Club. I suppose I should be happy that my little guy is finally built and on its way to his new home. At least I'm not joining the 600 Club. Hopefully no one will be joining that club!
I don't understand how a 3rd shift is going to do anything positive for us. 3rd shift does nothing for supply chain constraints. If they can't get parts or cant seem to get them on trains then we are still where we are a year ago. Everyone's supply chain in mulitiple industries is like this now becasue covid wrecked it. And since no company likes to carry inventory, there's virtually no way we can close the gap. It's a sad story. First truck I ever wanted - can't even buy it...

This is the thought that drives me crazy - Do i buy at inflated dealer price now? or do I buy at a cheaper price and wait two years and have my trade in go down in value that much over that time period? It's really hard to justify the dealer markups on the 1 year used models, but it's also very hard to swallow the fact that I'll likely wait roughly 1.5 years for the truck I want.

That is the problem I have. I ordered my truck in October 2021. If it would've shown up in a reasonable 6 months, I could've sold my Rav4 for $4000 more than now and it would've cost me $800 less for the vehicle than it does now, and I would've paid $3000 less in interest.

Hopefully, you've been able to set aside those expected payment $$ every month, and now have a sizable down payment that will bring the financed amount down enough to offset the additional costs.

There is no way they are adding a Third Shift if they don't have parts to use that Third Shift. You think they will just stand around and do nothing . BUT Ford might only have parts for the Ecoboost. So no help for hybrid orders. Or maybe they will build more Bronco sports even though dealers near me have them in stock. Whatever they build it will be something .

I’m still in the hunt for a Maverick Lariat Lux hybrid, but I won’t pay a dealer markup since that partially defeats the purpose of achieving gas savings with the hybrid. There is an old saying that ”fortune favors the bold.” I also believe that ”fortune favors the patient”, so I will continue to be patient since this markup environment will end and Mavericks will return to being a normal depreciating asset. Party on! :)

Rare is relative. Compared to iron ore and aluminum oxide they are. With around a 50% growth rate in electrified vehicle production, it is putting pressure on the supply chain.

A company wanted to mine rare earth minerals in my state but with push back from environmentalists and locals it will probably be years before anything comes out of it. Just like wind turbines off Martha's Vineyard that the Kennedy's fought against because they could see them from their mansion and whale protesters at other off shore sites. We can't get much done here but China has no such problems.

Really depends on the markup. The higher ones are ridiculous at this price point of course, but something like a k or 2 might be worth considering if you really want one sooner than later. Between the scarcity of finding one new and not a used flip (that’s still essentially new) and order slots filling up so fast and overshooting what is actually produced…when you figure in the usual msrp increase a couple times a year, a k or 2 markup today is pretty much going to be the same as just msrp tomorrow, so it’s sort of all the same in the end as long as it’s not too excessive. Not saying anyone should run out and pay a markup by any means as I am not a fan of them, just that one will prob ultimately pay one way or the other if there isn’t an order in.

Yeah, I would consider that if there weren't a whole bunch of people that placed identical orders to mine back in September 2022 and have been driving their trucks for over a month already.

I honestly don't expect to ever get my order(thanks for nothing Ford), but I'm not going to change what I want when it doesn't seem the odds will change. . .
Stick to your order! I ordered a statistically almost impossible to get build, and I'm not a rollover, and I have a build date set for this month. Like gambling, everyone here seems to be trying to figure out how to get their truck sooner, but I really think there's way to much we don't know, so to the general public it will remain essentially random.

More vertical and horizontal consolidation is not going to fix the problems. It is arguably what caused them in the first place.
Right, just look how much it harmed Tesla........

Or Ford can just be openly transparent about it. Like we have 500,000 orders and we have delivered X many and tell us this progress every month. This way, even though you are waiting, you can feel progress is being made.
not holding my Breath on any actual transparency from FORD or the Dealers. .... . . . .. . ...

Oh I am sure every corporation would love to get the special treatment that Tesla has and consolidate everything if they were allowed. That is the exact issue. We already know what monopolies do. They are very successful from a business perspective, and very destructive to consumers.
