Ford Brand Tonneau Hard Trifold Cover

Just looking for any additional input on the Ford branded hard trifold cover. I have read up on varieties a little, mainly curious as to leaking issues. Sounds like weather stripping may help particularly at the tail gate. Any other concerns with the Ford brand (I believe Advantage) to be concerned with? With a current promotion and Ford Points it makes for a pretty solid deal at around $800 but I'd be willing to pay more for better protection from the water elements.

I have one and it has been great. The only water intrusion is a couple drops near the tailgate if the conditions are right. Careful insulation is key. It is a rebadged BAKFlip MX4. I have seen people add weather stripping to the tailgate and that seems to stop what little water gets in. It also works with the Elevate TS rails.

I have one and have no complaints. I had minor leakage on one very heavy rainfall, but for the most part, everything stays dry.

I've had one for two years, and I agree with those above, just a little around the tailgate. It's been great, I'd never have a truck without it again.

Please note that tonneau's left and right tabs are too wide and block the gate extender. The Ford gate extension will not fold in. The product sold with Ford label came with instructions from Rev Industries, part 318S0015

. If this was designed and manufactured by Ford, most likely they would have 3/8 clearance at each side to fit the extender. The Ford Tonneau fits, but t it is about 1/2 inch too short at the end at tailgate, so the rain will inside of the gate wet.

As noted above, the cover is about 1/2" or so short. Mine was installed fully forward and needed to be moved back 1/2" so the rear weatherstrip would engage with the tailgate.

Yep, that's what I had to do also. But I still get a few drops on either side of the tailgate. Tonneau cover mfg's will say that nothing is 100% waterproof.

Mine is factory installed. I've only had the truck for four weeks, and it hasn't rained much in that time, but there has been very little rain intrusion when it has rained.
