June 10th for me. Not even scheduled for a build date yet either. Meaning the EARLIEST I would get it is end of March now. That's best case scenario. But I'm guessing early April...10 months after I ordered it.
That is just not right...at some point the company must allocate resources to get early customers some rights...it is just simply beyond any reasonable scale of fairness to take money from hard earning buyers to 'schedule' production for the max profit of those who didn't risk life earned capital for a product...this is a bit in the weeds of capital return..but this is simply wrong on so many levels...someone needs to feel the blow back

Then there is the part about how the Ford builder on the website last June and July stated clearly "Late Availability" with the First Edition. Maybe that might have been a clue.

Perhaps I should be mad since my Hybrid I ordered in June that was from Ford's marketing headlines in June about $19,995 and 40 mpg is still not here - coming long after people who ordered an EcoBoost in September get theirs. But.....I'm not.

This has been most fun to read.
Joining this mess waaaaay late, but by ordering a First Edition, the only things I figured I would be guaranteed was a vehicle built in the first MY, with some little add-ons (and some other things I would have added anyway). Pricing out the Lariat hybrid LUX with soft tonneau cover, spray-in liner, and moonroof basically puts it under a couple hundred bucks less than just getting a First Edition. So for me, it made sense to get the stickers, painted roof, and mirror caps thrown on for next to nothing.
I certainly hoped that the truck build might get some priority, but with all the restraints, delayed OKTB, etc., it for sure lowered my expectations. I am willing to wait a little longer to get the build I want, and don't think there's a reason for a huge uproar if other builds come out first.
I'll only say, there is fair reason to get really pissed if you see similar (if not the exact same) builds getting delivered to people who ordered months after you. I get the whole logistics thing, but still there is good reason to feel slighted.

Yes, say you ordered a truck with A,B, C, and D in X color that is also First Edition. You then see the EXACT truck being delivered for an order that was placed significantly after yours. I could see being mad.

That isn't what is happening here. "First Edition" literally means the "First" of the "Editions". Ford ( and all Car manufacturers) have always had special "editions' ( Anniversary, midnight, sport, platinum, etc). The breakdown here is that the OP doesn't seem to understand that words can have multiple meanings, and that in this case the word "First" only signified it's place at the beginning of a new productions models "editions". IT had zero to do with the order the truck would be built. By his original logic, I should be abele to order a First edition today, and it should jump ahead of all the other non-FE orders....period.

This is the epitome of entitled, and selfish thinking. Not only is the OP purposefully twisting the meaning of words to fit some sort of false sense of oppression, but are attempting to be condescending towards anyone who clarifies the truth of the matter.

The OP doesn't want a solution, they want to B*%$H and feel like they are being mistreated, when really they just don't want to wait for their toy anymore and a tantrum is the only way they know how to cope with the emotion.

But, eh, I say let it go on. S*&t is wildly entertaining to read while I poop.

For a moment I thought these complaints were valid. But I do not see anywhere in the Ford sight that “first edition” stipulated “first of the line” edition.

can we please keep the real complaints as to real issues related to fit function and form. The 3Fs issues as personal feelings have zero technical merit and should be constrained to the personal opinion section. As the moderators here are so eager to delete posts that they personally find an issue with. But these hurt feeling threads are just not regulated as well as others.

I'm just confused by a LOT people on here for one reason.
I FULLY understand the waiting frustration. Combined and because of the pandemic, we don't control that, so this a while new level of frustration.
However.
For everyone that (perpetually) says, "I ordered in June, July, Aug" etc----
Didn't you KNOW that production would not start until September????
All of these many many posts, about "waiting since June, July" etc....haven't you actually been waiting since Sept?
And aren't you waiting for a 2022 model year vehicle, via an order process rather than picking it up off the lot?
I think we all need to adjust our minds a bit to realize chip shortages are one thing, factory shutdowns, virus outbreaks, supply chain issues, labor shortages and their possible impacts, , and every other 2021 PITA ---they are all involved. Also try to remember that production actually began in September, in another country.

As for the person having a petulant pity party because they didn't know the meaning of first edition, well. You know.....

Totally agree. Misunderstanding what was meant by "First" is literally the only thing that caused this thread. Does not mean first built, first delivered. Simply means "First Year" and is meant as a special edition. In my mind, the only thing ordering an FE should promise is actually getting it BEFORE the 2023's get announced and released. Though, those models will possibly be better so??? Meh, whatever! I'll be happy to get my useful little truck covered in stickers when it eventually arrives :)

Ok...do I have your attention Ford? We made an early commitment to your advertised, pushed, premium prices 'First Edition'. And for myself, I am really, really, really not happy (do you catch where this is going?).

How in the mental world of any entry level marketing genius, do you expect the down right exclusion of 'First Edition' buyers to not being 'FIRST EDITION" receivers. How in this twisted world of politically correct, don't affend, get it for free society..do you expect to NOT get huge blow back for simply shifting your business model to NOT serve the 'First Edition' buyers..first. What planet is your business/marketing/public relations group on...or do they simply work remote from human interaction.

Is this Edsel 2.0 ???
I completely agree with your assumption that it would be built first with options above the base model based upon the website showing "Pre Selected for First Editon Package" the English definition of "First" along with the definition of "First Edition" if you apply it to a vehicle rather than a literary piece of work. Ford did not include a definition within their disclosure to state they have defined it any other way. The website is for "First Edition" They should have either called it Special Edition or Commemorative Edition. However, I do not know if this was a marketing ploy or the marketing team not knowing what the definition of First or First Editon means.

Given that the First Edition includes many options, many of which are known constraints, I think it is reasonable to expect that a First Edition would be one of the last configurations produced. Many constraints=unlikely production. This is why many have dropped options that they feared would delay their build.

It is NOT 'reasonable' when the marketing/sales senior team CHOSE those words. It is NOT a mystery of luck that those words were chosen. They CHOSE those words to suck revenue in a plan that was questionable. Don't sugar coat it...this is NO mistake in marketing...they were just planning on a quiet..easy..customer base that would buy into it. Get real...unless for course you work for Ford..
