Do you live under a rock? Literally every single business on the planet has been affected in some way by a pandemic.
It isn't 'pandemic', 'rock', 'world'...oh never mind...when you try to talk to language word smiths...you will ALWAYS loose because they like to change definitions to fit their business model...keep it up..it will come back to haunt you...admire your blinders.

Have a good evening.

I don’t know what cutoff dates or supply was on FE, but I’m sure people ordered a regular Maverick in June and someone ordered a FE in July/August. In what world would it make sense for the July/August guy to get their truck before the June guy just because the truck has the word ‘First’ in the name — which simply references paying more for some fancy decals lol
Maybe I am just nuts...but for someone who ordered their 'product' in July..should maybe, kinda, possibly, maybe, on the out side..get it before they ordered their product in say October...but then I graduated from high school under the old system.

Wasn't there a mint Geo Metro that just sold on Bring a Trailer or something for like $18,000?
factoring inflation from 1989 to today. An $8,000 geo metro would be $17,932.… the same “investment” in Apple would have made over 500k.

I'm just confused by a LOT people on here for one reason.
I FULLY understand the waiting frustration. Combined and because of the pandemic, we don't control that, so this a while new level of frustration.
However.
For everyone that (perpetually) says, "I ordered in June, July, Aug" etc----
Didn't you KNOW that production would not start until September????
All of these many many posts, about "waiting since June, July" etc....haven't you actually been waiting since Sept?
And aren't you waiting for a 2022 model year vehicle, via an order process rather than picking it up off the lot?
I think we all need to adjust our minds a bit to realize chip shortages are one thing, factory shutdowns, virus outbreaks, supply chain issues, labor shortages and their possible impacts, , and every other 2021 PITA ---they are all involved. Also try to remember that production actually began in September, in another country.

As for the person having a petulant pity party because they didn't know the meaning of first edition, well. You know.....

Still not buying the verbal gymnastics..maybe my 'generation' is not so tolerant with the corruption of meaning...been around the block...been scammed by Ford back in the 70's..selling 70's as 71's...and a host of other marketing scams...at some point you say..enough is enough..say what you mean..sell the product with full clear disclosure of what "First" means..treat your premium payers with some level of respect..but don't word game us into cheap ploys..this is not acceptable..but then I am a simple 7 decade old car buyer...what the hell do I know.
Though a FE cost more than base, I think you will need to move up several trucks before Ford will classify you as a “premium payer”. 😉

Another bad assumption. Ford manufactures with commodity shortages and dealer allocations and supply line disruptions. Manufacturing cars is not like baking cookies.

Yep...you must be a 'premium payer'..since my huge extra payments didn't register with your pain level...so hats off to your opulent level of big ticket items...just an average consumer here trying to make an urgent truck buy so I can afford some hard earned travel plans...but not worthy of the 'premium payer' level..I appologize for being a peasant buyer.

I think @RichApple has been misunderstood here. He is not a chronic complainer. He is just a traditionalist with an old-school, Confucian sensibility.

Like all good Confucians, he believes that a well-ordered society depends upon "rectification of names" -- the idea that the name of something should truly reflect its role in the world.

His only mistake is in thinking that his apparently idiosyncratic idea about the meaning of "First Edition" should prevail. That's not how language works. Not now, not 50 years ago, and not in 500 BC.

I think a thorough study of the Analects would bring us all together. Maybe a new thread? ☺
