Are we able to use the interest rates from time of ordering or when we are actually picking up?

Ford financing will honor rates from date of order but it also depends on your dealer not being shady.

Utilizing Smart Vincent the dealer can select whichever is more advantageous for the customer. They can toggle between time of order and purchase date, but you can’t mix n match (ie pick promo Apr from order and rebate from purchase date).

It is also always prudent to check with your local credit unions to compare rates. I’ve personally had big issues with Ford Credit in the past, and will always recommend to finance local when possible.

My dealer actually said to check the local credit unions as they are giving the best deals in my area.

As inflation gets worse, and more loans are defaulted on, local credit unions will need to bring in new customer to offset those loses. Large creditors aren’t going to feel the pain nearly as much.

agreed.
It wouldn’t surprise me if inflation is one of the reasons they are only opening the books for such a short amount of time. It just makes since… Later in the year, reopen the books and increase the price some to make up for inflation.

glad I got my order in and locked in a price.

On the plus side, you have time to clean up your credit.

The truck price may be set, but my trade will only lose value the longer it takes, so all I can do is cross my fingers for a reasonable wait time.

Ford Credit has the benefit of setting their own rates. Banks have to set rates in line with interest because they are literally borrowing money from the government at that rate to turn around and lend it to you. So, they can't lend it out at a rate below that amount.

Ford credit is essentially a rent-to-own operation. Their interest rates tend to be a lot lower because they can set them to whatever they feel like (within state laws). But even then they still make $10B a year from that. However, you need to have good credit or they will pawn you off on the local banks.
