We got a bit of a break last night when we got a call from our original sales rep, an experienced guy who has been out after knee replacement surgery.
(He’s not officially back to work yet, but was getting restless sitting at home. He just got the OK to drive, so he came in to the dealership to check on things … like our order.)
First, he was surprised we didn’t have the truck yet, since it was built 12/01. We told him we didn’t get the “Shipped” notice until 1/02, but were told it should be here in a few more weeks,
And we told him we were still waiting for our private offer to come through, and that the rep we have been dealing with since he’s been out said he was working on it with the sales mgr … but no one has yet said they’d heard back from their new Ford Inventory Specialist, who is the guy who needs to make this happen.
Anyway, we have reason now to be optimistic, since our original sales rep said he’d make some calls and follow up to make sure it gets done.
He called back not long afterward to say he verified with Ford that they do show both our MY22 and MY23 orders in the system … but the two still need to be connected by the inventory specialist before our private offer certificate would show up.
So he said he’d follow up on Monday, once he gets the contact info for the new Ford guy who needs to do this.
**** Even more exciting, though, is that we asked him to check on where our truck is, and he was able to see that it had made it cross-country and was off the train, sitting in the New Castle, Del., rail yard and waiting to get on a truck for the 2-hr ride up here.
System showed the truck is supposed to be at the dealership on 1/30 — and yikes, that’s Monday!
We’ll believe that when we actually see it, but we were prepared to wait another two weeks, so excellent news.
