Hello Everyone,

Started looking at the Maverick back during the pandemic. Didn’t think much of it at first, but after going down the YouTube review rabbit hole and seeing pretty much everyone praise it, I got curious. I’ve been searching autotrader, CarGurus, even carvana and carmax for some time now.

Didn’t actually step into a dealership until late 2025. Biggest thing for me was the back seat—I’ve got daughters and we do a lot of road trips, so comfort was a must. They loved it, so that checked out.

Fast forward to last month, I hit up my local Ford dealer and saw a Tremor and an XLT. Was stuck between those two until I noticed an XLT with the FX4 + Luxury package. That kinda sealed it.

Took me about a week and a half to decide. Didn’t really have to haggle much either—they were cool and gave me a solid OTD price.

It’s my daily driver now, and next week it’s finally getting its first proper road trip.

We love ours for road trips, except the rear seat bottom which is thinly padded and leads to sore butts after many hours sitting there. I bought some high quality 1.5" thick foam from an upholstery shop to lay on top of the seat as added padding for long drives and now it's perfect

Also, set the radio volume where you'd like it and go sit in the back seat - you'll probably notice the rear speakers screaming straight into your ear - set the fader forward until it's bearable for rear passengers

Thank you for the tips, much appreciate it.

I was also stuck between FX4 and Tremor, better towing or better off road? I really do my have anything to tow and I chose the Tremor. I do no regret it. I have a pretty nice, light, and easy camping set-up now and I didn't realize how much I would love the off road ability. I'm sure that with the FX4 tires and no lift, you will get better MPG than me.

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick. I wanted the tremor for lockers but unfortunately I have trailers and couldn't justify the 2000lb limit. I went with the FX4, I think you will enjoy the truck. At the time 24 they offered an upgrade tire size to P235 and wildpeaks a more aggressive thread and a little more ground clearance, which I ordered. Hope you and the family has memorable trips in it. Making memories with the family is priceless.

nice truck and cool that your daughters didn’t complain about the backseat because my kids sure do. They do not hesitate to tell me mom’s car (Honda pilot) is more comfortable. Whatever, just means the Maverick is all mine and the endless mess the kids make is in moms car.

Enjoy the new ride, and those road trips. Mine is going to stretch it's legs this week for a 2000+ mile roundtrip out to the Denver area and up Pikes Peak.

Sounds awesome, have a great trip. The scenery must be beautiful.

Thank you, and yes memories of quality time with loved ones are priceless. I don’t dislike the stock tires, I will eventually replace them with some 235’s or 245s.

I usually drive a Tiguan on our road trips, quite comfortable. My daughters are super easygoing—they just roll with whatever road trip plans I come up with. They’re not picky at all, they just go with the flow.
