Finally got a build date for October 16 with a delivery at the end of November. But.... I just purchased a Ranger a month ago since my SUV was at the end of it days (I was hoping it would last until my Maverick came in, but I was told I probably was getting pushed to 2023). My Ranger is loaded compare to the Maverick. Now what to do????

Flip the Maverick and make money, if you like the Ranger. We are still seeing people on here buying Mavericks for $5K and $10K over list, so there's a market.

My salesman flat out told me I'd be an imbecile to cancel my order and let the dealership pocket that profit. He first took us outside so the sales manager couldn't hear him.

Of course if you cannot possibly qualify for a second vehicle loan in such a close time frame your choice may be to trade in the ranger on the maverick. Or possibly get a credit line on your home if you have enough equity. Pay down the credit line at your own time span after flipping the paid for truck, whichever one it may be. Then use any cash left over for your maverick based garage sale flipping business. Both my brothers and sister do ok in that. One brother will get to garage sell early and if he likes what he sees he will ask them how much are they hoping to make. When they answer $300 or so and he sees three or more times that he will say ok, I'll take it all here's $250-$350 and you can go back inside and not mess with it. They underestimate how fast $0.25-$2.00 adds up.🤓

if it was me, 1st thing I'd do is go back and punch the salesman who LIED to you about your Maverick getting pushed to 2023.

I doubt he lied to them. My dealer told me about three weeks ago I'd be pushed to MY23, and then I got a VIN and a build date this week.

My dealer has been great to work with. He told me that based on what his Ford regional rep was telling him at the time, about all orders that were not already a Priority 2 being pushed to MY23. That obviously turned out to be untrue, but I still don't think my dealer lied to me.

You control the Mav with your order and DL#. Don't give away your equity for free to the dealer! Sell it, or if it is a hybrid, you may want to keep it for city driving and use the Ranger for trips.

The dealers have no idea what they are talking about. I thought we'd established that.

I wouldn't worry about making any decision until the maverick comes in. I would then look at/drive the maverick and see which vehicle you prefer since you can always walk away (turn it down) without any problems.

If you really believe you'll be towing/haul more than the maverick can safely handle, or will be actually going off road in rough terrain, keep the ranger and sell the maverick. If no to both the above, keep the MAVERICK and sell the ranger. The cost in mileage and purchase price is HUGE between the ranger and Maverick. I ordered a ranger and she in came in 5 weeks early so I turned it down cause I read about the maverick and ordered it. Had to wait almost 9 months for the maverick to come in, but it finally did and it can easily tow my 4,000 lb pontoon/trailer rig. Especially since I only tow it 7 miles round trip😉. The ranger would have cost me about $19,000 more than the maverick for the 1st 5 years of ownership for payments, interest and with gas at $4/gallon.

DL# - Drivers License number.
Think a VIN is required in order to track vehicle.
