Man, why do you keep suggesting people get two trucks? There is no rational reason for one person/driver to own two Mavericks.
Because I doubt these prices will stay this low next model year. Lots of families have multiple vehicles so it is rational to buy 2 Mavs at the price of one full size, unless they need a full size for more towing.

Hopefully you aren't going to get a Toyota. I read there is a 1.5 year wait on Tundras (Tacomas not too far behind) and Toyota doesn't even take dealer orders. It's like there is a supply chain shortage or something.
Toyota got hit especially hard because of thier supply practice. Toyota tried not to stock an excess of parts. They did not want to stockpile parts, so they were getting in parts shortly before the cars were being made as projected by need. So when the Covid thing started, they kindof got caught with thier pants down. Parts became harder to get pretty quickly and Toyota did not have a stock pile of parts to use until more came in.

What do next year's prices have to do with it? You're saying that it makes sense to buy two Mavs instead of one full size truck? In no situation does it make any sense to buy two Maverick's instead of one full size truck.

Source? My understanding is that Toyota had done somewhat better through most of these constraints, although they have not been completely clear. Toyota actually built in more resilience to their JIT process 10 years ago, which helped to weather some early chip constraints.

I'm no longer in a rush, its snowing an blowing here so even if I received the cute little truck I would probably still drive the 150 4WD, also, I'm putting away cash every month so.... maybe this will be the first vehicle I fully payed for, before I received it.
Meantime………

There manufacturing is capped right now, so it a lost sale...personally I don't think it is. If you can only make 500 cupcakes a day and you sell all 500 are you really losing sales? The assembly is going as fast as it can at this specific point in time. If they had extra build capacity then yes it would be a lost sale but they don't right now.
Their, not there.

If you can only make 500 cupcakes a day and you sell all 500, you should be raising the price per cupcake.

I am surprised that Ford has not done a mid-year price increase on the Maverick (yet). I'm assuming it is because they really like the "Under $20,000" talk, but even with that they could keep the base price the same and raise option and package prices.

Anyway, I'm feeling that this is the week I will get scheduled. Why? Because I now have a (refundable) deposit on an in-transit Bronco Sport, which I am supposed to see (and presumably buy or someone else will buy) before the Thursday scheduling emails go out. :( On this front, I will ask for opinions again...if I keep the Maverick Hybrid order to flip, what is the feeling out there in Maverick Truck forum land as to the best configuration?
a) Base + Co-pilot 360 (to get pwr mirrors) + hitch? w/Sunroof?
b) XLT non-lux. Sliding rear mirror, tow hitch? Sunroof?
c) XLT Lux? Sunroof?
d) Lariat base...
e) Lariat +Lux etc.

Right now I have a pretty maxed out (Hybrid) Lariat + Lux + Sun + coPilot 360, but I'm leaning toward XL trim if I keep the Hybrid order with the plan of reselling it.

I am an October order but knew that the wait was going to be long. When y'all ordered in June and July, did they tell you it's going to be 6 months or a moving target, something like that?
No, my dealer was thinking we'd see it by late October at the latest

I got a call from my dealership today! I immediately asked if they were calling about a scheduling date on my July 8 order. No, sorry. Just staying in touch ( 1st time they have called me) and letting me know I will probably have my car by MAY 2022. Hoping that’s just a worse date scenario. Maverick hybrid XLT, Lux, 360, cactus Gray and probably something else that I’ve forgotten because it’s been so long…

Let me give you some context from ordering in 2006 when there was no supply chain issues, but the new S197 Mustangs were being launched. Even during that period the time frames went something like this. So, soup to nuts that was 3 months. In a factory at the time dedicated to Mustang.

Ford doesn't need to up the price. They let you option the car and almost double its price already. They want the marketing bullet point of starting under $20k.

They're not going to play the supply demand curve - they have stealerships to raise them to insane prices to artificially slow demand.

Yes do not give back your spot to your dealer because I bet they will not cancel your order. Talk to a lawyer to verify but I see nothing on the order form that forbids assignment of the right to buy the Mav to someone else. If you give your spot to your dealer for free, you just gave them up of 10k ADM on their lot.
