Our XLT EcoBoost arrived at the dealer this morning, and the tracker has finally hit "Final Preparation."

Took a month to leave the plant, took another month to travel cross country by rail and a couple hours by truck. Just noting the timing, not complaining, since we did manage to get an early build on our MY23 order of 9/15/2022.

(Initial MY22 order was 1/25/2022, and thus never had a chance to get built.)

Now ... Just waiting to hear that the dealership's brand-new Ford Inventory Specialist — he just started the job on Monday — has been able to get our missing $1,750 private offer credit connected in the system.

And to be assured that we have price protection from yesterday's $500 price increase.

Confidence is pretty high on both matters — this is a good and honest local dealership — but will be happy when the Maverick is home in our garage where it belongs, with no further entanglements.

Just back from the dealership — Saw the truck, sat in the truck, started the truck up. Very satisfying.

Hasn’t been cleaned yet — Dirty and a couple of spots of bird poop. (Mexican bird poop? Or from elsewhere?)

Anyway —- Got our paperwork started, and STILL awaiting the private offer to come through. Sales mgr. is on it … But as far as I can find out, no one at the dealership has yet managed to actually talk to the new Inventory Specialist to get a fix on when this is going to get done.

Thanks to this forum ( especially @fordvideoguy ), we knew more about how the private offer credit is supposed to work than the sales rep (he’s relatively new also.)

Anyway, here are a few photos. (Not parked in a great spot to get good shots, though.)

NOW I can say that our Maverick XLT EcoBoost has really arrived, because it is in our garage.

1 yr 12 days since our initial MY22 order.
4mos 22 days since our MY23 order.

Built 12/01/2023 — Shipped 1/02/2023 — Arrived at dealer 2/02/2023.

Haven’t had a chance to really give it a good run yet (busy with work today), or take photos, but hope to run it about tomorrow.

Initial impressions are favorable, though. Comfortable ride, good acceleration, quieter than expected.

We have been a one-car household for more than a year … So this is quite an adjustment. But a very pleasant one.

Also — Take-home price was less than expected.

FINALLY got the $1,750 private transition offer to go through. Hoorah.

Another a minor snafu, though, with our $ 500 Farm Bureau discount — It was in the system, but somehow disappeared ... then an issue with addresses not matching exactly. But dealer has resolved this with Ford, and will be sending a $500 check.

(Issue getting the check from Ford directly is that the first line on our address is our physical address, where we do not get mail. We have a P.O. box, which is second line of our address ... But Ford can’t send to the second line. Silly business.)

Also, surprisingly, the dealer honored our request not to be charged $998 for their “paint and fabric protection package.” We balked at this being a mandatory cost, since it was not something we wanted. (A protective spray of some kind, with a 3yr warranty.)

We had given up fighting about it though, after they told us it was something they were contracted to do … But the $998 was NOT on our final invoice today.

After everything was signed and we had keys in hand, we asked about it … and were told management had decided to put the treatment on, but not charge us for it. We don’t get the 3yr warranty, since we didn’t officially buy it, but that’s fine with us.

So, after all is said and done, a good experience, and we were treated fairly, despite a few frustrations.
